As you can see, the hub to hub charging tank phenomenon has already been taken into consideration.

Mr Steed warned us a long time ago. |

Yeah, that would suck me in to Napoleonics and back into FoW… please, Battlefront, make it happen! |

Every time I see that painting, I can only think of Lady Butler, sitting out in the middle of a field with her easel, as the Scots Greys charge back and forth, over and over, while she tries to capture them with her brushstrokes. |

I think battlefront would do a good job. But strike me down for saying this; i always thought the Napoleon at War rules very the FoW of napoleonics? |
Sparker | 19 Jul 2014 3:11 p.m. PST |
Yes I've heard that too, but I think its more to do with their attempt to popularise and package the period – and good luck to them! |
Skeptic | 19 Jul 2014 3:43 p.m. PST |
Actually, the owner of the FLGS has been speculating about FoW Napoleonics for years! |

I think there already is a set of Napoleonics rules that replicates the FoW experience: Napoleons Battles broke new ground in the hobby when it came out. Many players loved it; and many players hated it, saying that it was simplistic and non-historical. NB gave a boost to the Napoleonic period in general, and to the range of Napoleonic figures available for the hobby. The flame wars over NB 20 yrs ago were very similar to the flame wars in recent history over FoW. |

Isn't the FoW equivalent in Napoleonics called Empire? |
Lion in the Stars | 19 Jul 2014 5:38 p.m. PST |
No, FoW is pretty simple, and even a brand-new player can play a middling-big game (8 platoons per side) in an hour or two. Empire is not that simple. While Sam would probably be appalled at me making the comparison, I think that the closest thing to Flames of War in Napoleonic rules is LaSalle. And I know I have the "Flames of Napoleon" (actually called "Napoleonic Flames of War: The Thin Red Line") rules mods lurking on this computer, where the heck did I download them from? Newcastle Occasional Wargamers? |

There was a French Forum(in English) for Napoleonic Flames of War years ago. Evan from BattleFront was on there a few times with some of his painted Naps. |

Yes and your recon Hussar unit sneaks past the artillery and heavy cavalry to the objective and wins the game!!! Uhm, no thanks! |

I would pee myself a little if I was wearing a French uniform and saw that coming at me! |
