We now have the Post Count to Stifle (or Ignore) ratio. Vital statistic, that. However, from day to day, my Post Count varies from 26,000 to 139,000. The only statistics we can rely on are, oddly, the actual Stifle count and Ignore count. The date of joining, and thus Membership Length are also … consistent. Some old farts, like me, may think our join up date are a bit off, but those numbers are at least consistent. So… Why not post a ratio of Stifles and Ignores to Membership Length? And the reverse. This would address the lovable old timers having accumulated our Stifles and Ignores due to an impressive body of work, and the young whippersnapper newbies who just check in to be obnoxious, get bored and leave. What will this accomplish? Absolutely nothing. Like most other TMP Talk whines telling Dear Editor in Chief how to do his job. It will also delay the dreaded TMP 4.137 while DEiCB takes time off to code this totally unnecessary function. |

What's the worst that can happen? The whiners will have something else to whine about. How can that be a bad thing ? |

A marvellous suggestion and one that I wholeheartedly agree with. There are some very clever fellows on TMP. |

I'd rather see effort continue on TMP 4.0 than this distraction. Add this later. |

Yes, the new metric should be the ratio of a member's smoke to their mirrors. |

I vote we merge the two names and officially name it the "Ignifle Ratio." If the ratio gets too out of whack, we could refer to it as a Stifnore Situation. |

That's a good suggestion – but if I may build on it I think we should consider just inserting ignore into stifle with a shared i, thus : Stignorefle Stignorefle – it probabaly needs an up inflection on the last syllable |

Kill the 2nd to last "e" and it flows … stignorfle. With that "e" in there, I want to pronounce it. |

Stifle? Ignore? OMG, why can't we all just try and get on with each other? Are the Stiflers and Ignorers the kind of people who plug earphones into their heads when travelling on public transport so as to blot out the fellow beings all around them? Do it, or don't do it but don't make it a TMP sporting event. Raise your game – you're better than that. Yeah Bill I said it again and I said to you I wouldn't. Oops, methinks that's me over and out, guys |
