Hey guys lots of folks here have the 15mm PSC halftracks.
I am about to paint 15 of them.
I was wonering if I could assemble and pain them with the drivers out, paint the drivers separatley and using tweezers or something,re-insert them and glue them?

I really dont want to paint interior with the top off then glue the top on.

The drivers would be fairly easy to put in afterwards, but I rarely bother with that sort of thing for vehicle kits as you can only see their backs anyway, a good dollop of field grey on them once you have done the vehicle and you are good to go.

I paint the passengers seperately (inclduing the MG gunner) an d glue them in afterwards.

That is exactly what I am doing right now.

I usually have a delay between building and painting a vehicle (sometimes years), so don't leave loose parts that can get lost. Anything you can't reach with a brush probably can't be seen anyway.

Personally I half constructed mine, glued the drivers in position, then painted the interiors and drivers, then built the rest and painted the outside. But with fifteen it may be easier to do them in batches of, say, five?

Its been a while but I think I left the drivers out because you can't see them on the table anyway

I think it will work with the German HTs because iirc the drivers are moulded in their seats but the seats are separate – easy enough to perform a test run though with a bit of blue tac holding the body of the HT together ?

I am not sure it would work on some of the other kits like the US and Allied HTs as driver, co-driver and their seats are a single lump of plastic that also forms part of the floor of the cab.

It was a while ago, but I remember as I was test fitting mine I figured it was just going to be too difficult to precisely get the drives in once the body was glued together.

I recommend painting the drivers first, and the interior as well, prior to assembly.
