One of the guys at my local game shop heard that I have been playing with Epic 40k stuff lately and asked if I would be interested in his collection that he hasn't touched in years. He showed me what he had and I was interested. Here are some pictures of just part of it. Boy I feel lucky.

You are sitting on a small fortune right now. On Ebay expect each Gargant and Eldar Titan to go for about $30.00 USD. The rest of your stuff appears to be older Space Marine stuff and not the newer Epic but should still fetch a decent price. You might have some real diamonds hidden in there its hard to see what you have in the tackle boxes. Rare items can cause bidding frenzies as people try to round out their collections. If you have anything from Forgeworld its gold. Some of those titans are nicely painted that could push the price above $30.00 USD |

Yes, but I think they were given over to play with and not to sell them right away. |

Much of this will see play on my table hopefully. Some may find its way to others, but most won't. |

So what do you think my boxed set of Epic would fetch? I think I painted like one armored vehicle, everything else should still be on the sprues. This is a large set with good and bad guys….paid about $70 USD IIRC about….17 years ago. Bob |

@bobspruster: A link to a picture of your box would be helpful. |

Thanks, Sean. See the first two pics. I think there is a scenario book I have to track down and there appears to be a bonus box of space marines. Bob link |

@bobspruster The box set is pristine and un punched you can get about $100.00 USD for it. Be sure to put it on Ebay when there are no other box sets available. A good time to check is Monday afternoon. |

@ sean My advice if you want it pick a rule set you intend to use (i.e. Net Epic etc…) then look at the army lists. You will get an idea of the point totals you intend to play with and what you need to round out your various armies. I would say you are top heavy in Mega Gargants and could probably part with several using the proceeds to get some items you need. I had a very similar situation happen to me about two months ago when a friend pulled his collection out of storage. He said it was mine as long as I did not sell it, actually painted it and we played some games. I had a mish mash of items collected haphazardly, took inventory and proceeded to go shopping on Ebay. BEWARE if you try to get items off Ebay and start down this path you will spend a fortune and insanity will soon follow. I recommend proxies whenever possible from a variety of manufacturers. Some items there are no proxies for like Chaos and Eldar and you will be stuck paying whatever the market dictates or doing without them. I also recommend you pick two armies and concentrate on rounding them out so you can start playing. I made the mistake of collecting for all of them at first then decided to concentrate on just a couple. Space Marines (complete) Imperial Guard ( a lot of vehicle variants to collect but core forces complete) Ork ( I could start playing but you can never have enough of them…) Eldar ( Don't even resemble a complete force and quite expensive) Chaos ( A nightmare to collect for…) Tyranids ( just need some proxie infantry) Squats, Tau and Necrons (all long term future projects.) |

You can get those NetEpic rules on Tac Cmd [Free!] … And also you can get alot of Proxies for Epic, from CinC/PFC, Onslaught, TMG, Exodus Wars, DRM, Microworld, Darkest Star[formerly Adler], Khurasan, and GZG. For example, Squats = Exodus Wars, Tau = Onslaught, Necrons = Exodus Wars & DRM, Eldar = TMG, Microworld, DRM Andy Scouts and Exodus Wars Infantry types, for Grav Vehicles = DRM Kray, Darkest Star and CinC, 'Nids = DRM Skyth, Onslaught Legion, IG = there are many, many, options from all the companies I listed … |

@Dragon Gunner: I have been learning Future War Commander. I have also looked at epic 40k/net epic. I have been working on fleshing out some of the armies I have. I kind of have a ridiculous amount of epic stuff. I have been trading and selling extras so I can fill holes. Good advice though. |
