This one is mine. The Zvezda M1A1 hasn't had good press, for the price there are other options but if you have bits in your spares box….. This is a WIP shot with a base coat of NATO green heavily dry brushed over black.
I will airbrush it over the weekend and then paint in the OIF IFF panels and other detail. I have the sensor to add to the rear of the turret as well. But all in all not that bad a kit. The plastic is better than the art of tactic ones and it didn't take that much effort. Good enough to game with ;)
Peter pig provided spare M2 and M240 from their M113 kits which I had left over
A barren featureless desert…
And if only they had done the panel lines on the skirts

Excellent work! Actually looks like very playable model now, kinda shame it came out half-finished. Good thinking to use BFs plastic M113 cupola! I might borrow that idea. |

Good job dressing up this model. The "before" pics really show how much work this kit needs… Damon. |

Looks pretty good. A shame they didn't do a proper job on it before putting it into production. |

Good thinking to use BFs plastic M113 cupola! I might borrow that idea. Although the Abrams doesn't use a viscous mount for the tank commander's hatch; the M2 is mounted in a hydraulic powered cupola that allows it to be operated while the TC is buttoned up. Still looks good though, OP! |

Rear lights still need to be done but I separated the track pads
They still need stowage
The combat ID panels are tad oversize
And I need to put the SINCGARS antennas on the second one And base them to match the AAVs |

They have been based on 40mm x 80mm bases to match the AAVs and the infantry
Just need the four HMMWVs for the CAAT team and this project will be finished ;) |

CAAT Team added from PP. Ran out of wire so need a trip to the model shop tomorrow
Painted with Vallejo Model Air which means I will go back and redo the M1A1 and AAV camo brown to darken it to the same shade as these |
