A smart a&$ question, but didn't the battle take place in December? Table is beautiful, but doesn't look like a winter landscape.

December 31st 1862. I talked about that in my blog. I used what I had in the basement instead of spending about a hundred more dollars than I already spent

Well, I think the terrain might have been browner – "dead" grass effect – but I don't recall reading that there was snow on the ground during the battle, nor can I find images of the battle showing it with snow. I think the table as is works, especially since it allows it to be used for other actions. Knocking on 20 years ago when I did a similar size table for First Bull Run that was an important consideration.
