Israeli and Syrian mechanised infantry clash near the Bekaa Valley. Another AAR for the Sabresquadron rules.

Your page contained no Battle reports or do you have to sighn up to see them…

No it's all accessible. There's a link under 'Latest News' down on the left and all AARs are on the 'Battle Reports' tab.

Here's the direct link:

Hmm. Looks like an interesting scenario. In a long-standing fight, I wonder if the advantages of the anti-tank missile will be surrendered when they run out of stock.

Consider what this engagement might have looked like if the Israelis had few anti-tank missiles.

The Syrians in the scenario should have moved off the ridge, certainly, as well as kept up the tempo. It seems in this scenario as well as real life, leaving a West-armed army time to set up properly is a recipe for disaster.

Glad you liked it Augustus.

'Position' was one of the points we wanted to reflect when writing the rules. Getting the right one is crucial but so is knowing when to move to a new one.

The Syrians would have been better concentrating to the east, overrunning the Israeli 3rd platoon and anti-tank platoon, and then moving westwards.

Next up is an attack-defence game from 1973.
