We're pleased to announce that The Deluge', next supplement to ‘By Fire and Sword' is on Kickstarter!

Join us in re-enactment of one of the greatest wars of 17th century. Three new armies: Holy Roman Empire, Brandenburg and Transylvania will be unleashed into Eastern Europe. There's plenty of new rules and new great miniatures that will come with ‘The Deluge'. We will be gradually presenting them during the 45-days long project on Kickstarter.
You can find more details about our game and ‘The Deluge' on campaign's site:

I know where the name comes from…
Then with such a name it should sell well in Britain.

badger2217 Jul 2014 7:52 a.m. PST

I have so been waiting for this. Cant wait to see if there is very much new stuff. I cant really get all my poles on the table as is, so hope there are some different things out there with this one

Is there going to be any actual battles we can recreate? I simply cant find any with any detail to set something up in english. i like the way the lists are done, but I would love to have a half dozen battles to recr4ate.

No, we don't prepare scenarios for historical battles.

OK. Is there a reason why? I opersonaly much prefer to do a refight than to do the points thing. And I am not alone. I was really hoping for enough history in this suplement to be able to do a real battle or two.

Might we see a few scenaroios in the future? or is this something the team is just not interested in? I dont know anybody all that close to me who also collects this period, so i do both sides, and mostly put on games at cons. So there is for me no fun trying to make an army my opponent isnt ready for.

Either way, I am still very happy to see this one and keep putting on games with the rules for a long time.

Kadrinazi, is there any chance of a wallachian/moldavian army appearing in the game's future developments? Evento if as a later add on, such as Courland and Gdansk.

Kadrinazi28 Jul 2014 2:53 p.m. PST

@Badger22 – for the time being playing on 2nd level (division) does not really allow to replay historical large battles. Specific system of building Your army on both 1st (skirmish) and 2nd (division) level gives players plenty of options to recreate some historical encounters, if You 'twix' scenario (which normally is in ways generated not set up).

@Don Sebastian – in fact there is such plan for future, although I cannot give any specific dates or reveal in which form it will be published. Sources for those armies are scarce but introducing Transylvanian army is step in good direction, as there was some historical interaction between them, for example in 1653.

Am I reading the imperial starter force correctly? Looks like it's all mounted cuirassiers sword dudes?

That sounds fun if I'm correct. Anybody from Texas playing this?

Kadrinazi28 Jul 2014 11:57 p.m. PST

Yeah, in majority cuirassiers (but, as it's 1657 they were not so heavy armoured as 30 years earlier) and some dragoons as well.

I see that this has just gone through the £35.00 GBPk stretch goal unlocking the Transylvanian Comitatus Cavalry, next stretch goal is at £37.50 GBPk and is the Holy Roman Empire Infantry Regiment.
.
Also Wargamer.pl also introduced a new backer level yesterday of 'Cautious Gambler' that will be sure to be popular.

CBRFigs24 Aug 2014 7:25 a.m. PST

Wargamer's "The Deluge" kickstarter now stands just over £39,000.00 GBP GBP with just under 1 week remaining.

The next three stretch goals are:

(Price of Imperial and Brandenburgian sets: for Soldiers 8 GBP/set for Officers and High Commanders 7 GBP/set. Transylvanian set: 6 GBP/set for Soldiers and 5 GBP/set for Officers and High Commanders.)

£41,000.00 GBP GBP – Bradenburgian and Transylvanian commanders sets will have 6 mounted miniatures each – 2 officers, 2 ensigns and 2 musicians.

(Pricing: 6 GBP/set for Soldiers, 5 GBP/set for Officers, first set (of each type, so total of 2) free for High Commander, further sets as per Officers' price.)

£43,000.00 GBP GBP – Imperial unarmoured cuirassiers. Beautiful minis sculpted by Artur ‘Dobywszypaùasza' Úwietlik are ideal not only for Holy Roman Empire but for other armies where they can be used as reiters. They will be available as small sets of 6 mounted miniatures (3 different sculpts).

(Pricing: 6 GBP/set for Soldiers, 5 GBP/set for Officers and High Commanders.)

There are two pledge slots left for the 'Cautious Gambler' – a pledge level that gets all items that are unlocked during the kickstarter. :o)
