I will read it as I just completed and really enjoyed 35 days to Gettysburg.

I do not like the author Burke Davis and do not trust anything he writes. He is so pro-southern it taints all he writes.

For me, a quite neutral reader, this book was not pro-Southern.
Imho was very good.

The problem is you might not have enough background knowledge in the topic to realize where he goes off the rails. He seems to make stuff up sometimes.

most authors make things up…you can be as pro-Southern as you like still don`t change the time line of a battle or the war

I understand that I haven't enough background in the ACW, but can you point me (in the way to lern more) what parts are pro-Southern?

Thanks in advance for your guidance.
