You sure you really want to read it (assuming an English translation is available)? It is a novel, something like 1000 pages. I read Doeblin in German (although not this book) and his style, although interesting, takes some getting used to – and I don't think it will translate very well. For thick books on Wallenstein I suggest 'Wallenstein: His Life Narrated (by Golo Mann), although probably more up-to-date works are available. |
