I have some spare Warlord US infantry who I intend to convert with German helmets and Sten guns to turn them into pulpy future minions of some Imperial or rotten Republic power. What colours should I paint them? I was thinking of grey fatigues with black webbing, boots and guns, but that might be a little monochrome. Does anyone have any other ideas? Thanks! |

I think monochromatic is perfect. the supreme ruler wants his minions to blend into the background. They are after all nameless faceless .minions. |

You could go red like the Blood Pact link I made up a squad using a variation of urban camo – off white, grey and black – I call them Team Recon coolminiornot.com/361490 |

@ Jimmy da Purple – an excellent point. I only have so many German heads though, so it's not like I can make a horde of them. @ Frederick – I had considered Blood Pact-ing them. I wasn't sure how that would go with WW2 US uniforms, what shade to use, or what to do with the camo in that case. |

"I was thinking of grey fatigues with black webbing, boots and guns, but that might be a little monochrome". It's not a bad color scheme at all. Many of the "evil empire" stories that appeared in pulp magazines had troops dressed in a similar fashion to the German uniforms of the 1930's-40's for obvious reasons. One of the most famous series of pulp magazines, known as the "purple invasion" sequence, was published in "Operator #5" magazine. The foreign invaders were described as being dressed in gray uniforms. You could jazz up the army by having the high leaders dressed in some other color. Dark green or even purple-ish grey? Anyway, that's what i'd do. :-) |

I was thinking of putting a Vader-ish peaked-cap chap in charge. Dark green could be good for the "Imperial Jaeger" or some such. I don't want to make them *too* German though – hence the American uniforms. |

Orange with Silver helmets use machine guns for them and a big capital letter on the helmet in black very much minions for a James Bond film type. Cheers |
