Just got a new(used)computor after being offline for almost a year. I temporarily lost all my old work on this campaign and respectfully request any links to military/orbats/aerospace/naval info on the years between 1948 to 1973. Any or all nations, prototypes of weapons/veh. etc. that should have worked 'cuz they look cool:). Like my previous idea of the Ontos armed with Davy Crockets. Using Traveller as a rpg base, adding Air War C21 and FFT-still looking for a decent fifty-ish modern naval wargame. 'Attack Squadron Roswell' by Zozer Games(on drivethrurpg) was well done for background and generating characters for the fifties(mongoose Trav based). I recomend it for at least a good beginning variant for Cold War roleplaying and what-ifs. Any Cold War Rhetoric sites? I need to brush up, you running dog lackeys of imperialist stooges--you bet your sweets mr. commie!!:) |

kcna.co.jp/index-e.htm The official news agency of North Korea still maintains a pretty good commie Cold War party line. They rail against the puppet regime of the Yankee imperialist forces of repression. Do a websearch for Pentomic Army, that gives out a few good Cold War bits of US Army information. I just posted a short article about the T92 light tank on my blog. Good luck and keep us updated. Mike Bunkermeister Creek Bunker Talk blog |

Thanks-I'm using the Pentomic TOE(+)-a little short on manpower and artillery along with the Pentana light infantry TOE which would be beefed up with POMCUS sites after airlanding. Also having fun with Sov & ChiComm organisations. Shock Army-Mech Corps with heavy tank brigades and arty divisions, Horde Army with seemingly endless mech and armored cavalry units etc. probably 1/72nd for skirmish-boardgames for higher levels. |

Wow! Just read the New Years' Address! Have'nt seen this eloquence since October '62! It's almost a art form. |

I am working on War of the Worlds for 1898, 1918, 1938 and 1958, so my Pentomic forces fight Martians like in sci fi movies. I keep posting on my blog over time as I add more stuff. Mostly 1/72nd scale and HO scale vehicles. Mike Bunkermeister Creek Bunker Talk blog |

For US Army uniforms and individual equipment, Shelby Stanton's US Army Uniforms of the Cold War is invaluable. |

Glad to see you are back Skip. Been there, currently doing that myself, since mine froze as well, so sorry, can't provide anything much useful, other than moral support. You have my sympathy. |

The good thing about Drivethru, Wargamevault and rpg now is the library system so I can download pdf's I previously bought. That saved a lot of the hobby for me. |

kcna.co.jp/index-e.htm I rather enjoyed "Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un's New Year Address" with writing such as this: "We should further develop the People's Army into the powerful revolutionary army of Paektusan that is unfailingly faithful to the Party, the leader, the country and the people. The main link in the whole chain of developing the People's Army is strengthening the company which is the basic combat unit of the army and base of soldiers' life. We should make all the companies elite combat ranks fully prepared politically and ideologically, militarily and technologically and their dear homes overflowing with brotherly affection. By stepping up political and ideological education among service personnel, we should train them to be strong in ideology and faith and ready to defend the Kumsusan Palace of the Sun and the Party Central Committee unto death. They should intensify combat training and launch a brisk movement for becoming crackshots so as to prepare themselves to be a-match-for-a-hundred combatants with excellent marksmanship, strong physique and a high sense of discipline" And I wonder what happened during this episode: "The state should take measures to bolster up the fishing sector. The sector should follow the example of the fishing sector of the People's Army that landed a huge haul of fishes by carrying out the order of the Supreme Commander unto death." And of course there is this: "We should make positive efforts to defend national security and peace. The US and south Korean war maniacs have deployed legions of equipment for a nuclear war in and around the Korean peninsula and are going frantic in their military exercises for a nuclear war against the north; this precipitates a critical situation where any accidental military skirmish may lead to an all-out war. Should another war break out on this land, it will result in a deadly nuclear catastrophe and the United States will never be safe. All the Korean people must not tolerate the manoeuvres for war and confrontation by the bellicose forces at home and abroad but stoutly resist and frustrate them. " Sigh… |

So fanatic fishing…probably applied to other civilian functions like fanatic street cleaning, construction, cooking… Space:1959 may end up like Dr. Strangelove. |
