Hi,

I am currently looking for rules preferably in electronic format that would allow me to skirmish around with Poles, Soviets and Germans in 1:72 scale. If there are no such rules then any that would be easy to modify / adapt.

Your favorites please.

Thanks !

Chain of Command by Too Fat Lardies is my personal favorite…You can play pre-war, early war, late war, European theater, Pacific theater, or whatever else you might want. PDF available on their website at a very reasonable price, no extra books to buy, no scale limiatations or proprietary minis and an extremely good set of rules to boot. Search TMP, there is a lot of good information here on CoC.

CoC is it. Fits any scale mini and the lists are free! And the rules themselves are great fun and allow actual historical tactics and ranges.

Thanks for those recommendations. Since the main book only includes, '…Army Lists for Britain, Germans, the United States and Soviet Union.', where would be the best place to look for Early War Poles ?

On the Too Fat Lardies yahoo group or on their website…all free.

toofatlardies.co.uk/blog/?p=1778 for 1939 Poles. Lists for 1939 Germans (and Soviets of various vintages) also on the blog.

Yep, they have done a bunch of early war lists that are all free for download on their forum. A wonderfully well-supported not to mention fun as hell game!

Chain of Command is fantastic though you need about a platoon on each side, so depending on your definitions of "skirmish' that may not fit.

That being said, it really is a game very gamer should own.

I'll add my vote for Chain of Command.
We have had some great games of both Barbarossa and France 1940 using these rules.

Arc of Fire work for me…….from the people who publish the Skirmish Campaign scenario books………had many a game 'in' France and 'during'
Barbarossa.

I do army level games. I wrote my own. "The Shattered Century." It's basically 1918 to 1943.
