Last night in the Wargamorium a Russian force under Prince Mentschikov was drawn up on the Alma heights north of Sebastopol in an effort to prevent the Franco-British armies from taking the city and its naval port. The British were surprised to find that the Russians had created a large artillery redoubt to cover the two main roads leading to the city but not as surprised as the Russians were when they found themselves under artillery bombardment from the French Navy anchored just offshore!
