kind old King George Sent Mother a note When he heard that father was gone. It was, I recall, In the form of a scroll, With gold leaf adorned, And I found it one day In a drawer of old photographs, hidden away. And my eyes still grow damp to remember His Majesty signed With his own rubber stamp. |

A couple thousand nicely painted figs along with the best terrain and buildings . Our home. My truck. My guitar. A car load of historical reference books. My fat clothes. My skinny clothes. All the misc. hobby crap I never used or will. All your toys I refused to throw away. You gotta take EM' then. My toys which I should of never bought. My lawn mower and ladder which you never returned. An autograph from Robert Stack signed Eliot Ness. An autograph from Ginger Baker. My hammock the lemon drops in the top drawer of the nightstand. A lot of great memories . ALL MY DEBTS, And don't forget to split up everything evenly with your sister and the dog. |

Being that exactly one month ago my father pasted away (June 14th) in his morphine induced sleep I have lots of held memories. Including the moments when my wargaming "life career" started so many years ago (on a USA cricket team tour) in Victoria station London. Blog link: link M aka WR |

More than I have ever deserved, His good name and character, his humor and stubbornness. His looks and smile…His Boston Bruins jersey and his hats…His hats were the ones he wore in parades when I was small, he was the post commander at the VFW. He left me an ache that won't stop until I see him again someday when it is my time to leave my child. |

TMPWargamerabbit, yours are fond and loving memories of a good man, husband, father, and friend. He lived an interesting and well travelled life and, surely, he would be justly proud of your blog tribute to him. Thanks for sharing. |

"When you are old enough to read these words Their meaning will unfold These words are all that's left And though we've never meet, my only son, I hope you know That I would have been there to watch you grow But my call was heard and I did go Now your mission lies ahead of you As it did mine so long ago To help the helpless ones who all look up to you And to defend them to the end Defender Ride like the wind Fight proud, my son You're the defender God has sent Ride like the wind Fight proud, my son You're the defender God has sent Father, father, father I look up to you and heed thy call This letter ends my search I'll live your dream now passed on to me And I now wait to shake the hand of fate Like the dusk awaiting dawn" From one of my favorite metal songs; Defender by Manowar with narration (first four paragraphs above) from Orson Welles. |
