Poor Jarhead.

I was delighted to read his post this morning. These are long awaited and the website pictures are worth seeing for the quality of the painting of the troopers and, for the first time, we see the command figures in bearskins and helmets. Cleverly, they have altered the pose of the officer and trumpeter for both. I have 18 on order as of 1100 BST but doubt I am the first in!

Snag is the original posting has been "hijacked" by those scurvy lot who follow AWI. I do not want this swamped.

So apologies to Jarhead….but for me this is the Day of Days. My three conversions look a bit sad now…….

I am holding out for Gringos, too, though. My Gendarmes d'E will be the largest unit I possess!

A good idea of yours to re-post the new Perry releases. I concur, these are an excellent addition to the range and I am delighted with them.

I also like the AWI period but there is a time and a place for everything and that does not mean hijacking other period posts.

Well done Perry Miniatures, and well done you deadhead.

It's a joke. Can you understand the concept of "joke"?
Almost every time Perry releases something new someone whines that they did not release whatever their most anticipated figure/range is.
And since the idea of a WCtD is just silly that makes the joke even more hilarious.

I will now whine about the plastic Prussian Reservists promised but never released.

Baconfat……..That is better…..that is a constructive comment that could just influence producers' thinking…….if a bit optimistic?

Let's be honest, we will continue to get, from all makers, French line in pre Bardin, or post Bardin, or in overcoats, plus the better known Guard units…all in that pose that I thought was "March attack" (see earlier forum)…that is what sells!

Brave folk like Westfalia and Gringos are sticking their commercial heads over the parapet……with "obscure" releases and must be supported if to survive!

Well, my Perry Gendarmes are here and even better than I expected. I imagined a "simple" conversion of the Dragoons of the Guard…chop off the head and fix on a Guard Foot Artillery bearskin head. Swap the aigulettes to left shoulder…done.

Actually the poses are similar to the Dragoons and Grenadiers a Chev depending on whether helmets or bearskin variant…..but they are subtly repositioned and, at first glance, the castings seem sharper and the figures slightly taller and slimmer.

Nice attention to detail. It would have been so easy to leave the musketoon butt down….no, they are inverted now, correctly.
