Howdy, I just fast painted to tabletop level a unit of old Grenadier Copplestone barbarians for my WHF army. I love these figures and I think they turned out not bad and now thinking about painting a cavalry unit as well.

Those are gorgeous! So many square-cut manes and smoldering blue eyes! |

Are these also the same as the ones sold by Mirliton now? |

That's a great looking unit, nice paint jobs. I have a pretty large army of them, too. They're my favorite 28mm barbarians by far, even moreso than the old Citadel barbarians. I bought my first pack way back when Grenadier first sold them, because I needed a good Conan stand-in. Then I added a pack, and another, and another . . . And he does them in the same style in 15mm now, too. |

The Grenadier Barbarians are nice sculpts. Really nice to see them in a good angry horde. As for the a cavalry, I think they're even nicer figs than the foot. A buddy of mine painted up a batch of them up recently. With a modern paintjob, they look every bit as good (to me) as modern sculpts.

Nice stuff! You might want to do a bit of variation in the fur color so every piece is not grey. |

That cavalry is very nice! @lonka, I agree with you about grey furs but I was speed painting. Besides, brown fur on human skin is a bit dull :) |

Very nice figs. Like the blood effects & colors on shields. |

Yep very nice, I picked up an army of them earlier this year from Forlorn hope. |

I was thinking of getting some of these to go with my BTD barbarians as supplements to a marauders of Chaos themed army. |

There wolf There castle, the blood is made with Tamiya red clear and a drop of black ink. DeadAwake, Forlorn Hope gives great service with affordable P&P unlike EM4. Rwphillipsstl, I bought mine to use them as marauders as well. |

blacksmith completely agree with you |

Can Rwphillipsstl or anyone, tell me how these figs compare to BTD barbarians in size and style? Blacksmith, I've never had bad service or unreasonable shipping from EM4. I've always been well taken care of by EM4 even though I'm stateside. Forlorn may have better rates, and my buddy said they have good service, but I think they're prices are ever so slightly higher. One thing they do have is alot of fantasy that EM4 doesn't even though EM4 is their supplier. |

Style-wise, the copplestone and BTD look very compatible. Not sure about scale, but the BTD figures are not huge, so I bet they are closer to compatible than not. |

I have both Copplestone and BTD (ex-Harlequin) barbarians. They're very close in style and in scale. However, be aware that there were at least two different sculptors for the Harlequin barbarians. The earlier sculpts, by Kevin Adams, are excellent. The later sculpts are noticeably less skillfully executed, although they still match the scale of the Copplestone and Adams sculpts. |

@ordinarybass, Doug at EM4 might have some bad experiences shipping to Spain which is where I'm based, because he charges abusive prices when shipping to there. Half of my barbarians are from EM4 but after he raised dramatically P&P I swapped to FH and never looked back. In any case, I'm not complaining about his service which always was good but about his current P&P rating. Cheers, |
