Also seen halfway down this page: link Would that make a cool race or what! Is the name Luna Ticks taken yet? That could be the derogatory called by humans. Dan |

Why did nobody start from there to make an intelligent roach-race alien species ? |

Christopher Anvil has a sci fi story about alien roach people. I forget the title though. |

Reminds me of the Blatterians from Steve Lortz's World Wasters. "Blatterians are the intelligent insectoid species that evolved from cockroaches on planets devastated by post-nuclear warfare. They aren't very fierce individually, becoming bold only when there are large numbers present. Most Blatterian worlds are at a medieval level of technology. These "roachmen" are relatively immune to harsh conditions. They are often found working as wipers and stokers in the reactor compartments of tramp starships, where they aren't too adversely effected by any loose radiation that might be slopping around." |

I found this image by accident, while I was looking for something else, and it made me think again of the subject of intelligent insect taking over …

WHAT IF???? Future Earth is so overpopulated, polluted, and space-travel to another star, (unlike INTERSTELLAR), to re-locate….isn't possible. In fact….due to higher CME's/solar activity…most of technology has fallen, or is falling into ruin….EXCEPT for bio-chem/dna-recombo med stuff….so in order to survive…mankind SPLICES some 'roach DNA'…(how much more 'the FLY' can you get!), creating a new, hardier, HUMAN species….only after the first generation…something goes terribly WRONG! Instead of Homo-superior, (as in X-men versus 'humans')….we now have a dwindling human/1st gen mod-humanoids….vs homo-blattodea ad nauseum! Just like they said about 'Edgar' from MIB…..Mwah-hah-hah! Of course….I believe TENTACLES will conquer all!!!! |
