Are Wargames Factory plastics the best bet for a cheap bunch of Zs? I know some people don't rate the quality, especially of the first set, but I just want 50 or so cheapies for a one-off. Thanks Doug |

Can't comment on Wargames Factory ones, but you might check the Twilight Creations' Bag o Zombies for their Zombies! game. They're a bit small & soft plastic, but I used them ok with true 25mm figures. |

WF Zombies are good if you need a lot quick. I got the original set, but havent bought the women boxes yet
heard they were better in detail. P. |

Yes, Wargames Factory are fine for the price and the undead ladies set is better than the first offering. In fact they're so cheap that you'll find yourselves trying gruesome conversions and limb amputations that you might not normally consider with more expensive zed figures. |

Also recommend the Mantic ones. 25 pounds for 40 zombies. link |

Jim – they look like the kind of thing I'm after – they appear to be selling in the UK for about £14.00 GBP a set. Privateer4hire – I'm currently on a small tablet so I can't make out if they're modern or fantasy. Black Cavalier – thanks, I'll have look at those. Doug |

I wasnt happy with the Wargames Factory zombies. They looked too small next to my 28mm figs. |

The Mantic zombies are generic enough to be used for any period. They have no clothes on their torsos, & the clothes on their legs are so tattered, they could pass for modern jeans or medieval leggings. They are almost all empty handed, with only a few holding other rotting body parts. |

How do the Mantic compare for size? Doug |

Studio Miniatures makes a rather big set of 60 modern zombies for £30.00 GBP
I don't have some of these myself, but have often considered them. I DO have some of their WWII zombies, and they are excellent :-) link |

Wargames Factory female zombies are really good, the male ones are small and have indistinct detail |

I would go for the mantic ones too they are good for medieval fantasy to present and onward. The warpath apkcalypse ones are very nice. |

Studio minis are good but only 4 types really, so 15 each for your 60. You can of course mix up the parts for variation but as they are a hoards then it doesn't really matter. WGF male zeds were done a few years ago and are a bit slight in stature, i found the detail reasonable and in a hoarde they are fine. Overall a 6-7/10 I'd say. The female vixens ate another story, same price for the same amount of minis but they are really excellent. I would advise getting them as they are multiple part, multipose and great detail and variety possible.defo get the vixens (although ignore the 15y- old lame text on the box) Twilight creations zombies are more like 20mm minis and slight in stature compared to 28mm although if painted in a hoard you probably wouldn't notice. |

Oh and I base all my zeds on 20mm bases (UK 1p coins) and vase my characters on 25mm base s that really helps to build the hoard feel |

The Wargames Factory are definitely "cheap", not in quality, but in cost, especially if you need large numbers and who doesn't need hordes of zombies? The biggest downside is having to glue all the parts together, but you can customize them to a degree… |

If you want some variety at a decent cost, along with no assembly, Zombicide has the Box of Zombies available, which are essentially the board game pieces packaged separately. I've seen them on Amazon and Miniature Market for ~$20 for 24 miniatures, 8 unique sculpts in a box, 3 mins of each sculpt type. Less than a dollar a miniature, no assembly, just some mold line clean up, and they actually paint up quite nice. Good for hordes, and they're right around the 30mm height so they match with other metal lines. ~iPaint |

I used a bunch of prepainted Mage Knight Mash Zombies. If you want they can be rebased or even repainted. You can occasionally find them on ebay or places like Troll and Toad link |

I have a lot of Twilight Creations zombies. I use them but they are more old 25mm, even 1/72 so small compared to most modern figures. i put them on bigger bases. Spray black and drybrush for fast painting.
I should have dipped them. I did for my Zombie Clue game

Ah, man! I'm absolutely going to have to do a Resident Evil-esque game using a Cluedo board. |
