Those Sarmatians will cover a long span of time. Very nice.

Bellbottom09 Jul 2014 10:24 a.m. PST

Very nice figures, well up to his usual high standard

Very nice figures.

Average figures.

The Lurkio figures are very nice, but my issue is that they are on the small (delicate?) side for 15mm, and I can't mix them easily with my usual go to manufacturers (Xyston, Corvus Belli and Essex. Not a big deal if they are the only ones I am using to build an army, but I like to mix manufacturers for variety and interest. My Inca are Falcon and they just look like giants by comparison.

I like these, especially if they are true 15mm to go with my Heritage and Essex and Mini FIg strip collections.

I think I will wait for the company to use DBA 3 lists. I am sure a fully armored knight and horse will be a 4Kn so need 4 figures.

Not sure there will be any fast Hordes (but I like the improvised weapons) that they show as 5 figures on a 40mm x 15mm base but box says 40x30mm. Hordes in this time would be 7Hd, Solid Hordes as militia types.

There will be need for Auxilia. The light spear could do for that but they need 40mm x 20 base, which is optional. Probably Solid Ax so 4 figures is good.

Cavalry box shows 4 figures, but text says 3. The Light Horse described as armored cavalry but just 2 figures. Very immobile pose.

Good Ps.

There must be legionari of VI Victrix or II Augusta in the army, so that means some solid Blades.

The army of Vortigern can use many of the sub Roman types but needs some Saxon Warband, most likely solid.

The descriptions on the boxes is better than the text on the site.

Some very nice looking figures here. I have to admit I am glad the Roman Villa is sold out. Otherwise I would have to buy one!

Does anyone in the US carry them as I want to get a pack or two to see what they are like in person, not sure if 27.5% of order value is high or not?

Going to order some of these nice looking figures, especially as the LBMS shield decals fit these shields which will really finish them off. Will put some pictures up if I can finally figure out how to post them on here.
Will buy enough to do a DBA army to start for the 2.2 + rules as then I can defiantly find an opponent to play against at the local 'cons.

"My Inca … just look like giants by comparison." Ah, yes, the classic battles between Inca and PostRoman British.

Only in Ancients would this concern be thought "historical" with a straight face. It is like complaining that WW2 Germans do not mix well with AWI Continental militia.

They remind me of Mike's Models. i'm sure they are just the sort of thing that will appeal to people who like that sort of thing.

These look nice, although I'm not crazy about including bases I won't use. If these are on the small end of 15mm, does anyone know how they size up against Splintered Light figures?

Ammianus02 Feb 2015 7:28 p.m. PST

Got my governor and escort this week. Pain to glue riders halves together but paints easily. They are indeed on the small side. You can't mix them with Splintered Light much les Legio Heroica. Very nice but just don't go with my other Dark Age armies. Darned shame. You can see my pictures over at Fanaticus on my Lurkio thread.

These look excellent-great idea to sell figures in elements and with bases.
