We have used Black Powder and Warfare in the age of reason

Charles Grant wrote a comb bound book on the subject. The rules were a version of Paddy Griffith's Napoleonic Wargaming for Fun and I must admit I was not able to make heads or tails of them until I happened to read Griffith. That could have just been me being thick though. The book also has three or four scenarios.

I have used both Slaughterloo and my own Muskets & Shakos to game actions from the Mysorian Wars. Both worked quite well.

For large scale fights I'd go Black Powder/Hail Ceasar.

For Skirmishes Sharp Practice.

I am tempted to try Maurice for these wars.

Maurice has the advantage that you can custom make cards to fit your take on historical events.
