Great model. Nausicaa is a movie to show people that claim all anime is thinly disguised porn. One of the most imaginative fantasy/SF films ever.

What rvandusen said.

I've loved the design of the Gunship ever since I first saw the model kit (and bought it) decades ago. I'm now up to four kits, and I'll probably buy another at some point. It's a really well engineered of an unusual design.

That's a really cool paint scheme, and an excellent finish.

One of my all time favorites movies (of any kind). Gunship coloring appears a bit off – needs more rust or wear and tear I think.

Back to the movie – the Disney dub is excellent.

Who still says that about anime?

I most recently heard it from a 16 year-old intern. Which shows you the intellectual sophistication of the argument.

I have that kit unassembled. I have been wanting to build it for years, I was just never good with model kits in that fashion. Also it needs to be airbrushed to do it justice and I simply don't have that ability.

Glad you enjoyed it boys!. (smile).

Read the Manga. Such a masterpiece. The movie is great, but oh so limited, so limited compared to the Manga!

other good anime to show people who do not know about it

Sword of the Stranger
Serei no Moribito (probably the best family anime, with a great female lead)

I'll add Grave of the Fireflies. But, boy, is that a heart-breaker of a movie.

KTravlos, what a coincidence that you mention "Serei no Moribito". I just added it to my 'to watch' list after viewing "Kemono no Souja Erin", another fantastic epic written by the same author as "Serei no Moribito."

jpattern2, "Grave of the Fireflies" is truly one of the most heartbreaking films of any kind ever. How one can watch it without choking up I'll never know.

On a similar note, since we're discussing fine anime productions, I strongly recommend watching the series "Haibane Renmei." Another deeply moving and thoughtful work of art.

Oh the Erin story is one I want to watch. I am a bit scared of the huge length!

Guin Saga is fun in a campy sword and sandal fantasy way, with excellent production values!
