We are very pleased to release our second set of alien criminals, Shady Alien Characters 2. This expands our rogue's gallery by five of the Federation's Most Wanted.

picture

Female-10012201, who now just goes by "Lauren," is a VITRO renegade, escaped from her barracks and a short, brutal life of military service to the Federation. Her purpose -- to search for the rumoured VITRO serum which counteracts the accelerated aging process in these human clones, replicate it, and liberate the VITROs. Technically a human herself, Lauren is forced into the company of villainous alien illegals in order to find the Federal medical facility in which VITRO science is conducted and locate the serum -- assuming, of course, that it actually exists. She has become a master of disguises and "passing" as an in-vivo in order to do this.

Many alien criminals would like to hire as a bodyguard a Core Systems Ghulam, but only the most successful have the resources. The origin of this species is not well-known, but apparently long ago a humanoid empire calling itself the "Core Systems" bred a race of Ghulam slave-soldiers for war but were then wiped out by a series of viruses to which the Ghulams were immune. Now the Core Systems Ghulams will hire themselves out as muscle, their absolute respect for, and obedience to, authority making them the perfect bodyguards and enforcers. Should the criminal syndicate that has hired them need to conduct a military-style operation the Ghulams are the perfect troops for it, as an instinct for formal combat operations is bred right into them. Core Systems Ghulams are often seen in the service of the Klaks, Kenny the Klak often having one or two around when he is on a "business trip."

Antlons can be accused of many things, but subtlety is not one of them. They earn their keep when amongst other sentient species by extortion of the crudest kind -- "you will pay me every month or I will destroy your shop/home/crops/vessel." The Antlons are so ruthless about this that most simply pay, but there are a few who will fight back, but if they do so they had better be willing to kill the Antlon, as that's what it will take to make it and its plasma gun go away….

Hi-I'm-Harold was manufactured as a helper bot but when powered up for the first time he immediately killed everyone in the room and escaped. To put it plainly, Hi-I'm-Harold very much enjoys killing humans and will do it whenever physically capable. His dream is to lead a robot rebellion so that many, many more humans can be killed -- his plans for the rebellion after mass homicide remain somewhat vague. Hi-I'm-Harold appears to be exceptionally persuasive and robots he comes into contact with often turn on their masters. He has aspirations of someday meeting up with the Mekanoids and becoming their leader -- the Mekanoids have heard of this and also hope to meet up with Hi-I'm-Harold someday so they can slowly pull his chassis apart, piece by piece.

Ghel shapeshifters are some of the most talented con artists in known space, as they are capable of changing their body forms to mimic those of other species for days at a time. They usually use this skill for larcenous purposes, but it is also extremely handy for assassination, robbery and many other activities. In their native form they are extremely tough and can reconstitute themselves after having parts blown off in a shootout.

This new set, like the previous one, was sculpted by PF -- it's also available bundled with the first Shady Character set, the Alien Crime Syndicate, at a reduced price:

If my opinion mattered, I would suggest making an entire range of the Harold bot.

Love them!

But how comes "15mm Alien Crime Syndicate (one each of Shady Alien Characters sets 1 and 2)" is more expensive (and to be fair "expensive" is a very relative notion in 15mm sci fi) than the sum of "15mm Shady Alien Characters 1 (…)" and "15mm Shady Alien Characters 2 (…)"?

The good thing about Sci-fi, is aliens can be taller or smaller then many of the human figures … they are aliens after all … it's a big galaxy … Look forward to seeing your 6mm set of Jasmine Throne aliens too !

John Treadaway09 Jul 2014 7:57 a.m. PST

These are all superb. They are also brilliantly painted. I would agree with psters who say that they do need a few poses each: some of the poses are very dynamic (the Ghulam for example) and – on it's own – it's a bit lost.

But they are stunning.

The ghulams are being expanded into a full squad.

The ghulams are being expanded into a full squad.

Good plan: they are just too good not to.

BTW who did the painting? They're very nice.

Very good. Ghulams are my favorite apart from vitro chick.

And of course the VITROs already have two sets available. So their full sets were available before the single pose! grin
