We are running a little Freikorp sale, to clear down some stock before we take a couple of weeks holiday. This will give us a little room to clear up the factory and maintain the machinery…

picture

So, NOW ON until 21st July, 20% off all Freikorp stock:

- Elizabeths Irish Wars
- English Civil War
- 30 Years War
- Samurai
- Renaissance
- Tudor Wars
- French and Indian Wars
- Seven Years War
- American Revolution (or War of Independence, as the Americans seem to like to call it) :-)
- Maharatta and Sikh Wars
- 19th Century Europe
- Texan War of Independence
- Seminole War
- US-Mexican War
- Maximilian War
- American Civil War
- Great Paraguyan War
- Yellow Ribbon (Indian Wars)
- Spanish American War
- Commissary, for all those generic wagons, limbers, cattle, sheep, pigs…

picture

What do you mean "I didn't know Freikorp did those"? Clearly you need to spend a little (or a lot!) more time looking round our website. :-)

Do I need a code?
Nope, just order on the website and you will see the prices are already reduced from £2.70 GBP (for a pack of 8 foot or 4 cavalry) to £2.16 GBP – that's 27p (or about 46 cents) a figure!

Can I use the Redtide code?
No. The Redtide code is for postwar and modern items.

Do the multiple purchase discounts till work?
Yes they do – buy 3, 4 or 5 of the same pack and you should see an additional 5% on those items only. Buy 6 or more packs (great way top build up larger units) for an additional 10%.

picture

Does this mean something is about to change? Price rise perhaps?
Well, yes, we will shortly be launching a new website and at the same time reviewing the prices and discounts we offer, so this may be your last chance this year to really buy big and make a big saving.

Why isn't this in the Hobby News?
It is, but it appeared and disappeared so quickly, and several people have already commented that they saw it on the website, but missed it in TMP Hobby News that I thought it was worth putting up here.

Have you changed the metal?
They was an issue with Freikorp figures being known for snapping at the ankles. The metal was changed to a softer compound that bends instead of breaking… by the previous owner, and we have had the company for 6 years! Yes, brittle Freikorp is really that long ago.

How good are they?
Well, we have photos of most of the ranges so you can see for yourself. In many cases we have spent the last 6 years going back to the original masters and remoulding from scratch, and the improvment in quality really shows. The detail is as good now as it has always been.

What size are your 15mm figures?
15mm. No, seriously. We have not crept to the 15/18mm scale, and our 15mm figures are, as always intended to be, a 15mm range, compatible with the likes of Essex, Minifigs, Peter Pig, etc.

So… why not get into a new period. Better yet, get together with a mate or a club and really make the most of the postage savings on larger orders (if it's really big and the website is showing a horrendous postage charge, email it to me and I will see what we can do on that postage).

Freikorp is owned by and a trading name of QRF Models Limited to define their pre-1900s ranges. The ancients ranges are owned by TSS and not included in the sale.

Alright Geoff, isn't it a 20% off sale?

GeoffQRF08 Jul 2014 3:15 a.m. PST

There you go, you just got an extra 5%!!

(I've just asked Bill to amend it!!)

Oh Bugger08 Jul 2014 4:05 a.m. PST

Very timely some great stuff for the Indian Mutiny to be had.

boy wundyr x08 Jul 2014 10:36 a.m. PST

Hmmm, maybe time to pick some things up for ECW and TYW skirmish fun.

JonFreitag08 Jul 2014 5:52 p.m. PST

Perfect time to restock!

GeoffQRF09 Jul 2014 1:41 p.m. PST

Why not restock… AND start a new period? :-)

GeoffQRF14 Jul 2014 11:55 p.m. PST

For those that have asked, although we are running some surplus stock down, we pretty much cast to order so we have plenty of everything.

Geoff

The switch to a softer metal could have taken place as long as 19 or 20 years ago.

I bought my 15mm AWI British army to game "Warfare in the Colonies" at NLWG. The rules have an introduction by the author dated August 1994. I bought the figures at a Salute at the old Kensington Town Hall venue, probably 1995 or 1996; KTH was last used for the 1999 show.

FreiKorps had fairly recently switched to the new compound and not all of their ranges were available. Their AWI range was one they had not yet got around to and my army was especially cast for me to collect at the show.

138SquadronRAF15 Jul 2014 1:07 p.m. PST

Have they improved the metal that was used. Friekorp were notorious for fragile figures? I always had to double my order and then handle figures so carefully that it wasn't economic to order in the old days.

GeoffQRF16 Jul 2014 4:18 a.m. PST

Yep, the metal was changed a looooooooooong time ago. As DHautpol says, it could have been as long as 20 years ago, and certainly has been on a much less brittle alloy for the last 10 or so years for certain.

GeoffQRF19 Jul 2014 3:37 a.m. PST

Sale ends Monday, for anyone who is thinking of grabbing a bargain.

JonFreitag19 Jul 2014 7:29 p.m. PST

I grabbed mine!

Oh Bugger20 Jul 2014 4:57 a.m. PST

Me too.

GeoffQRF21 Jul 2014 3:51 p.m. PST

Thank you very much.

Watch out for bigger changes later this year

diflin05 Oct 2014 6:39 a.m. PST

It was twenty years ago that I changed the metal. I had to wait until my father retried to change it. Freikorps has changed hands twice since my time. The Geoff and the lads at QFT seem to be going a good job of carrying on with Freikorps good customer relations.
