Just got my first resin tank kit from Blitzkrieg and I'm impressed. I'm also a little intimidated. And need some advice. Glue – regular super glue will be ok? Paint – I want to use Acrylic but do I need to wash the kit first? Soap and water or a special chemical? Wash it before or after gluing? Finally
I've an M3 Grant. I want to use a tank commander sticking out of the turret. I can't get a good look on how the turret door opens. Some pics suggest it opens out in two halves? But my hatch door is a solid casting.

Edwulf – I am interested in Blitzkrieg as well. I am curious – did your model come with a tank commander? I cannot tell from their website

Yes wash with warm water and dish washing soap. and yes regular super glue works fine and wash and clean mold lines and flash first. as for the commander hatch you will have to drill it out and make the two halves out of sheet plastic. The 2 Shermans are Blitzkrieg resin models

CC matty No. I got a pack of Perry tank commanders. Ron sorry. My terminology was wrong there. There is a whole for the commander, the hatch door is a seperate solid casting which I guess I need to cut in half? |

The hatch needs to be cut in half, parts swinging open towards front and rear of turret. |

I've got several of the Blitzkrieg vehicles and all I did was wash them with warm water and hand soap before assembly. I used Gorilla Glue which is a stronger version of super glue here in the US. All of my vehicles came with a "half" commander figure except for the Marder. I picked up the Perry Marder crewmen for that and I am glad I did as they are perfect for the vehicle. After that, black undercoat and off to the painting table! I really liked the ease of assembly for the vehicles. I will be buying more in the future. Larry |
