A French regiment was made up of various battalions. If you buy ANY Victrix flags for them you end up with a multitude of regiments flags , all for 1 battallion (the first), no 2nd, 3rd, or whatever. Prety useless for me
. Better get the free ones on the internet , or, if you want good looking flags, you have to go to GMB designs, where you can choose your regiment AND battalion. |

You have to take into account that a limited sized sheet of flags free in the box would be rather boring for most customers if it had 1,2,3 battalion flags of the same Regiment. You can't put every regiments flag in a box. If you look at the A4 flag sheet that has 3 battalion flags per regiment. Of course it will most likely not have the regiments you are looking for. I always thought the addition of the flags was a nice touch. Still, there's no pleasing everyone. |

Nice fellow at Maverick Models is where I get all my flags. |

After the 1808 reforms weren't second, third etc battalion flags supposed to have been withdrawn anyway? So the sheets should probably be fine for after that date. |

They are not useless. They are very handy. If you want variation, just take your time and search for the appropiate flags and quite senseless complaining. You could say too that Perry late French infantry is useless because they mix greatcoats and habit-veste, or because they all wear trousers with gaiters under them
Etc. |

They are also useless for the American Revolution and the French at Agincourt. |

John OFM – that made me laugh . As to the flags – seems nice to be given them – must be me. |

I am not talking about what you get as an extra in their boxes but about the ones you have to buy. Do you all make yoUr regiments with one battallion and then start discussing about the the right blue to paint them with and how many buttons they should have had ? Senseless complaining ? Boring ? All your battallions of the , let's say , 1st regt have 1st batt.on it ? Why not use English infantry and paint them blue ? Not have the regiment I'm looking for ? And now they do ? |

The A4 flag sheet has various regiments on it and has the 1st,2nd ,3rd and some 4th Battalion flags. The smaller sheets have 3 flags on. |

I'm old enough to remember a time when you couldn't find any figures except the plastic (54 mm!!) figs in the Marx battle in a box sets---The Alamo is the one I had!! Now I have so many 'troops' in 6-10-20=25-28-30 and 54mm that my wife is about ready to disown ME ----and she helped me collect, paint and play with them!!! The whole point of this diatribe is to show you that be thankfull that you have so many manufactures that you can choose from and that most of them try to give you a start in building a force by including flags, mounting trays, extra heads, torsos, and different bodies with different uniforms. |

I give up, Ive tried but apparently the buttoncounters only count buttons. Luckily, and tankfully, Steve from LMBS has solved my dilemma. I allready wandered why someone who makes such incredible products would not have considered the battallion isue. Steve, I'm ordering. Thanks for straightening things out. |
