This, apparently, was a wonderfest 2014 'exclusive' and I've not seen them for sale on ebay or anywhere else
so far. gunjap.net/site/?p=186634 I've got two of the 12" resin kits, (one unassembled)
but this one looks to be smaller and more in line with some of my other ships from the series
(Capital ships)
Can anyone help with more info/sizes/where I can find one???? Sgt DWW-btod |

Sorry, can't help with your questions, but I've got one of my own: Are those aircraft landing strips on it's arms? |

Those are aircraft carriers repurposed as arms! |

Yes, the SDF-1 from the Macross series was a huge (city sizes) and literally used salvage aircraft carries as 'arms' in the original series. |

From the article is only 105mm long, confirmed in some forums, but at 10000 yen/ around $100 USD is ludicrously expensive for an ABS kit, even if extra good detailing. regard MMG. |

While not interested at $50 USD apiece, I will say I wouldn't mind the arms re-repurposed as space carriers. I know a landing strip seems a bit silly on a space ship, and yet, it gets the message across. Wait, a little over four inches tall at $100 USD?!? Crikies! Doug |

Only one is supposed to be an aircraft carrier. |

I thought the arms were reclaimed aircraft carriers that happened to be within the space fold radius?
This looks like the original design, or the SDF-04 Global, with the ARMD carriers as the 'arms'. But $100 USD for a 105mm tall model?!? what are they smoking! |

In the first Macross series, the 'arms' were supposed to be the ARM-D space carriers, but both were destroyed
When the SDF-1 'jumped' to space beyond Pluto
.Macross island and all the stuff on it/around it
including 'submarine-carriers' for mecha and Veritechs were among the items transported too! They were NOT designed for space, but were adapted and attached to the SDF-1 in place of the lost ARM-D space carriers. In Macross: Do you remember love, (basically an alt story/movie), the two ARM-D space carriers WERE attached to the SDF-1 and the plot-lines/story were different. The ROBOTECH trilogy used the FIRST Macross series
..and combined it with two other UNRELATED series
..Southern Cross and Mospeda:Genesis Climber. Harmony Gold, (who 'Americanized' Space Cruiser Yamato into STARBLAZERS
.pulled a 'Roger Corman' and did the Robotech Trilogy. BTW
.by 'Roger Cormanizing'
.I mean how the original move 'Planeta Berg/Planet of Storms'
.was re-made into Journey to the Prehistoric Planet and Journey to the Planet of Prehistoric Women
.as an 'example' of merging footage from disparate series. Robotech was/is still way ahead of any other 'saga's' from it's time
.but the Macross Series alone
.has/had several 're-inventions'/sequels all of it's own
.. Bottom Line
I'm still trying to get my own copy of the 'non-scale' version of the 'exclusive Wonderfest non-scale SDF-1'
.and I CAN'T find one for sale on ebay, Amazon etc. The company that made them, (still has them for sale), will NOT sell/ship to customers OUTSIDE Japan
So I'm basically 'out of luck'
for now. |
