Being Issued. "Militant members and sympathizers of the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) have circulated pictures of what they said was the passport of the so-called "caliphate" declared last week by the militant group. The "State of the Islamic Caliphate" appears to be inscribed at the top of the purported passport. At the bottom, it says: "The holder of the passport if harmed we will deploy armies for his service." ISIS reportedly said the new document will be distributed to 11,000 citizens living in cities bordering Iraq and Syria

If no nation recognizes it, it isn't worth the paper it's written on. Nice keepsake for the jihadist who has everything! |

How kind of them to provide such an easy method of identifying members. I do like the deployment of armies promise though. I wouldn't mind having that on my passport. |

Can someone remind me – were these the nice rebels last year in Syria, or have they always been among the bad rebels ? |

The hubris of their leader bodes ill for the permanency of this "state". |
Legion 4 | 07 Jul 2014 7:45 a.m. PST |
Yes, they certainly are trying hard to get a state/base to start their worldwide jihad to convert the region [as seen in this map here – TMP link ] and possibly the world to a caliphate
does not bode well for the region. Especially the Jews and Christians in the region
not to mention the Western World in general
To again, to quote a US ARMY Officer in Vietnam, "We had to destroy the village to save it
"
May be the same case with this "defacto" state
It all may just be bluster, sabre rattling, posturing, etc., etc.
But the Syrians have had little success with destroying IS and it appears the Iraqis are not fairing much better
Regardless of the Sunni – Shia differences, the various factions including AQ, AS, BH, etc.
in the entire area, including Africa, ME and SWA
The last thing the West needs to do is ignore this threat/threats
As I have said many time before here, the War on Terrorism is very far from over
Regardless of the US/NATO pulling out of Afghanistan in the near future. The only thing I can say all their differences in the moslem world, besides Sunni and Shia', but tribal, ethnic, warlord affilitations, corrupt leadership, etc., etc. may work in the West's favor. As we see in Syria. They may be all too busy killing each other off to be effective in their plans for regional or worldwide jihad. The same will probably happen in Afghanistan once the US/NATO leaves that failed state
as it happened when the USSR pulled out
I'm fine with all the moslem factions working out their differences [by slaughtering one another, it appears], but they always tend to export their problems to the West. Like, 9/11 etc.

It's like an imagi-nation, or a model railroader who prints up tickets and broshures for guests. It would be amusing if it wasn't for the underlying violence. |

Refusing to accept the passport is probably hazardous to your health. It makes those Iraq/Syria border crossings so much easier now. |

I think they are the nice rebels our government wanted to give lots of weapons to last year it's just they have now moved a couple of hundred miles east. |
warhorse | 07 Jul 2014 3:17 p.m. PST |
Funny that they think they need a passport. I thought they claim moral sovereignty over all mankind through the dreanged mutterings of their favourite desert brigand, and their claims of divine guidance. So borders would be so passe for these guys, no? |
altfritz | 07 Jul 2014 6:52 p.m. PST |

"LOL! Try going through UK /US passport control". I suspect they probably won't need it to come across our Southern Border this Summer, or anytime soon after, and it will probably be able to be used in some states for applying for a voter ID, or driver's license. |

ISIS Promotional Video Vows to 'Conquer Israel, Rome and Spain' "The 'Caliphate' established by the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIS) published a full-length propaganda video earlier this week, showing the "different faces" of the Islamist state – including governmental, educational, and religious activities. One of the islamists, a citizen of Kosovo, spoke at a passport-burning ceremony for foreign nationals, who then accepted "passports" issued by ISIS leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi for the Caliphate. The speaker drew a sword from its scabbard and promised to continue the jihad, or holy war against non-Islamists, including Saudi Arabia, the Palestinian Authority (PA), Rome, and Spain, which was formerly under Islamic rule. He added that these goals are the "first step to taking over the world."…" Full article here link Amicalement Armand |
