I picked this vehicle up at the swap meet last week for 30 cents. I think it was originally at toy found in a kid's meal at a fast-food restaurant. When I bought it, it needed some repair and a new paint job, but it looked like it could be fun and for 30 cents I wasn't taking much of a risk. The Foundry Darkest Africa figure is provided for scale. I'm not sure the cruiser is all that practical, but practical or not, it looks pretty good with 28mm figures, and I'm glad I got it. Hope you enjoy it too. [URL=http://s1082.photobucket.com/user/rgarretson/media/IMG_1072_zps973ccec5.jpg.html]

My first thought was that it reminded me of cargo cults – natives who built representations of aircraft they had seen in hope that they would return. Maybe these guys saw a truck once. :>)

I thought of Gilligan's Island when I first saw this. Great work, Richard.

You have to find a native taxi driver to go with it. Perfect comic relief for the middle of the jungle adventure. It seems very Abbot and Costello.

Excellent work. I don't know what I'd use it for, but it definitely deserves a place in some sort of pulp-comic adventure.

Thanks for the kind words. This may turn out to be one of those little projects whose value is in the doing and the smile it put on my/our face(s) . It definitely calls to my mind the Gilligan's Island vehicle. Glad you enjoyed it too. Richard
