I have looked without success for modern US mortars and crew. I would love to see Peter Pig produce these since I am using their US Marines.

I would also love some Militia and Hardened Militia with SKS carbines.

I do want to say that I love PP's figures!

I agree, FWIW. Also would like to see some additional generic "Freedom Fighters," more FFL and Isrealis with Tavors and Negevs.

I'd like to see more figures for faction leaders

French and USMC figs with mortars and AT weapons. Maybe a couple more packs of French to add a touch more variety to the poses.

Few years back (during my hottest african-imagination period) I actually sent PP a list via email what I would like to see/would find usefull addition to their current product range. I will repost it here:

"- Regulars with UZI-smg. I know that in AK47 republic they might not have much to do, but it must be noted that there is no "light gear" uzi troops on market at all.
- Regulars with MG3 – as there is G3 armed minis allready, and the MG42/3 is still common in africa/middle-east, these would propaby be quite usefull.
- Regulars/Profs with Carl-Gustav Recoilles Rifle – not so common in africa, but still available, and most important, no one makes these as "separate set" in 15mm.
- AT-3 & AT-4 launchers as "spares", as your RR and HMG ranges are – after all, there is ATGM rules in AK47."

And as a addition to that list, also french Legion Etrangere with AT-weapons of somekind. Also, 15mm OT-64 would be nice, and UR-416 (Rhodesian pattern, at least).

For a British company the absence of modern British infantry is surprising.

Everything MaahisKuningas90 mentions would be nice. I want to give my Pro's some AT weapons that are not disposable, and troops with SMG's(UZI's, Sterlings, various WarPac/ChiCom subguns spring to mind. MP-40's and berets for those hoping to game The Dogs Of War) would be nice for putting together a CQB-themed force.
I would love to see Professionals with M1 helmets and FAL's, for use as Canadian Peacekeepers.

"…and UR-416 (Rhodesian pattern, at least)."

A vehicle I'd forgotten about, in that African context. I second that recommendation.

"I would love to see Professionals with M1 helmets and FAL's…"

In this scale, those same figures might well pass for Aussies of that era.

I agree with observations about figures carrying UZIs. These days' we might consider the weapon something of an antique(?), but there's no denying it's prominence in the appropriate times and places.

I too, have wondered about the absence of Modern British infantry.

Second requests for figures with an MG42/MG3.

Lightly equipped (or, even no equipment) figures with M16/M4 weapons (with and/or without headgear). Would cover a lot of North African/Arabic/US Civilian/Zombie Hunter requirements.

Inclusive of all the usual (and very valid) manufacturer/buyer caveats, I imagine they still have more suggestions than they can ever realistically address.

I'd like to see some dressed in 'Western' style militia clothing and armed with some Yugoslav weapons like M-80 rocket launchers and M53/ MG-3/ MG-42 machine guns.

Definitely Triple the 'African' minis with MG-42's, also models armed with PKMs would be a nice addition as well.

Hobbygoblin08 Jul 2014 9:14 a.m. PST

PKM's would be nice(stick-mounted for vehicles, and in the hands of militia and/or regulars). Female militia with AK's would be nice. So would militia with M16's, FAL's and MAG's(seen a few photos from Libya and Syria of militia with such weapons).
Professional radiomen, snipers, medics would probably go over well with people.
Infantry with AK-74's!
Additional Personality figures(combatant and noncoms)
Ultra-modern "Operator"types would be cool. Helmets with facial armour(or gas masks), semi-exotic weapons(Vector SMG, P90, M4 with Masterkey, M32 grenade launcher), basically make them as Tacticool as possible.

I understand from a reliable source that Martin from PP believes there isn't a large market for modern Brits – which is probably right, unfortunately!

Martin Rapier09 Jul 2014 4:02 a.m. PST

And where there is, QRF and Old Glory already have it adequately covered.

Chatticus Finch09 Jul 2014 7:48 a.m. PST

I love the idea of a few more modern bits of gear, AK-74/ AK-103 carrying Hardened Militia, guys with RPG-29s (basically oversized Bazookas size-wise). RPK's and PKMs… my kingdom for those on the models! :)

As an aside, a few models with TAVOR would also do well as Singaporeans with a head-swap, as they are very similar… same with modern South Africans if you want them to run with CR-21s.

Some more advanced crew-served weapons would be nice, like anti-tank missiles as we have seen in Syria, and a Stinger and a SMAW recoilless rifle would be grand for the USMC.

I think a mix of soldiers with KH-2002 rifles (Iranian Bullpup rifle) and the SAR-80 and Ultimax-100 (Singaporean Rifle and LMG) would be good 'unique' weapons as well… SAR-80 and U-100 definitely still get used in African bushwars even today.

ULTRA-MODERN spec-ops to mix with the USMC/ Professionals would be an ace addition as well.

DEFINITELY more personality types, it is amazing just how many one-off mercenaries you can get with those and the right heads.

Oh! More heads definitely! I am currently using PP East German/ Germany 1945 helmets on Battlefront Vietnamese Infantry to make some imagination 'East German supplied' regulars… the heads PP makes are godsends for converting things!

Definitely love the PP range, they're brilliantly made and more of them would basically have me throwing my wallet at them.

This!!

Some ultra modern isrealis would be go down a treat and i also like the idea of figures with uzi's, The Wild Geese comes to mind for gaming.

rorymac11 Jul 2014 8:34 a.m. PST

I like the uzi- armed PKMs and RPKs suggestions. Civilian types with western small arms would really be welcome as well.
