After having my new and oh-so-pretty d20 fail to roll 1-4 no less than thirty (30!) times in a row, I threw it out the window from the eighth floor. I made sure my other dice were watching.

LOL, a friend of mine who gets two bad rolls a t critical times just goes outside and does his best 'SlingaMalinga' _(ask the cricket fans :) problem solve. But ouch that must have been one bad session, and I'm sure the laughter, oh the laughter 8)
Cheers and better happy gaming next time.

Give it the hammer in front of the rest of your dice. It's important to let them all know they are there to perform.

Pour encourager les autres.

When I played WRG 7th, years ago I had a really bad run of luck at one Historicon. I bought a new set of dice before I went home. Once home I took the dice outside and with the new dice watching I hammered the old dice into pieces.

Not sure if it helped. But it felt good.

I think its from either my son or step-son's facebook.

A few years ago there was a Larry Leadhead strip 'Pour les encouragement les autres" based on a anecdote I emailed them. After rolling 1 something like 5 times on the trot (or more) a friend set all his dice up in an amphitheatre styles curved wall, and, placing the offending dice centre stage, took a blowtorch to it.

My friend was mortified when he saw the strip. His wife loved it, and put it on the fridge.

took a blowtorch to it.

There are obviously not enough blowtorches lying around in my gaming room …
