At one of my museums, I found a wool coatee, navy blue, with either brass or gilt buttons (I was just checking the box for carpet beetles so I didn't look too closely) showing the seal of the state of Georgia. It had a Fred Yung of new York label at the neck. Did the post-war state militias and national guard continue to have wide variations in uniforms, or did I find a military college coatee?

Yes, post-war militias and natonal guard did have a wide range of uniforms. This site might be helpful: link
