So with me getting the rule book for PMC2640 I decided that some of the lead mountain should volunteer for duty with the new formed "Stercian Tactical intervention Group" Here's as hot of the new recruits and the heavy technicals they will have available for support
Tactical doctrine for the S.T.I.G's is that fire teams should have access to up to date Recon info so teams are being equipped with the mark 2 Hi-Ball (TM) ;) What do you think will these boys make it as mercs? C&C always welcome Note edited to include a less rubbish photo |

Very nice. Shouldn't they be in white and betray their mates though? |

You ain't seen the boss yet, he's so white I can't find him :) |

What make of figures are they? |

Mostly the ones I've gathered are GZG New Anglian Confederation although the prone gunner in this shot I'm unsure about as he's a bit bigger. The trucks are matchbox the drone is server rack mount stud that I picked up at work along with a few of its fellows :) |

Look nice. Do you plan to use static grass on bases? I think some some "alien" one should fit fine? Maybe yellow to match the camo on vehicles? When I was making my test army O8 doesn't have Scout set, so I used standard infantry and glue static "grass" (red one!) on helmets and shoulder pads. Old-school, but cool and make them distinguished on the table.

Assault Publishing Glad you like them. As these are really a test of how the paint scheme works I hadn't got that far. I do use flock and scatter on others so it will probably happen here to in vivid oranges and yellows (dried used tea bags mean making random colour scatter in small quantities is so easy and cheap) Thanks for the advice. |

So I've been recruiting again first up a recon drone unit
A sniper team
And a regular infantry unit there are 2 teams in total but they are both similar so why show both :)
I have a heavy weapons unit and scouts and am working on the S.T.I.G's battle commander as well. Any thoughts |

For me this yellow and red flocks make really cool "alien" mix. About the minis – they look a bit too glossy. Maybe it's the effect of flash or light. Have you used matt varnish? |

some of its a bit to do with my rubbish photograpy, but yes i think i missed these when i sprayed everything. i do like the really alien tones for the flocks thanks for the idea. |

I use Army Painter matt varnish spray and gloss varnish from Humbrol (named Model cote, but I guess it can be any other) on glass (visiers on helmets, vehicle windows etc.). Gloss details looks fine on matt minis IHMO. |

Nice looking minis from both! |

I also use the Army painter matt spray, for the gloss varnish I tend to use craft varnish it's a lot cheaper and quite hard wearing. I think these are shiny partly because I was experimenting with thinning the paints with klear to make it flow better so that added to the shine and then because I had a large selection of models that needed spraying that day, I guess some didn't get dulled down fully. looking back at the photos above I'm not entirely happy with the sniper pair's cloaks so will rework those and then re dull everything. I also like shiny visors standing out from matt minis especially vehicle canopies. |
