Hi all,

In a fit of good fortune, I have been given a small bundle of Australian Bushmasters and M1 Abrams tanks from a colleague. My only issue is that they are 6mm, and they have no infantry.

So my question is, what kind of models are available for modern 6mm Australian infantry out there? I already have a good number of 15mm models, and 6mm seems like it might be a good choice for my ideas of massive combined arms battles on maps.

Any help will be much appreciated, cheers! :)

AFAIK there are none at all. At that scale, modern US troops should be the way to go – apart from the gun at 6mm they'd look spot on.

I don't think the Australian army is even capable of massive combined arms operations either, we're not the largest army in the world!

Hehe I should have rephrased that to say I wanted to incorporate them into larger combined arms forces :)

So it seems 6mm US is the way to go? I think I might mix that with some modern Israelis (if they have TAVOR rifles for the bullpup look) or French or British models for the bullpup rifles, sprinkle in some USMC/ US infantry with M4's, and call it a day from there for the time being then.

Chatticus,

No idea about 6mm figures. However, don't assume bushies and Abrahms will be used together. The Plan Beersheba model introduces a combined arms brigade comprising:

1 Armoured Cavalry Regiment – three squadrons but no bushies
- Armour – M1 Abrahms (14 tanks)
- IFV squadron – stretched M113 and
- Recon squadron – the ASLAV
2 Infantry battalions
- 3 companies each
– using the ACR IFVs not bushies
1 Artillery Regiment (maybe at some stage with SPGs)
1 Combat Engineering Regiment
1 Signal Regiment
1 Combat Support Battalion (may have some bushies)

Each of the regular combat brigades are backed by two Reserve Brigades with a minimum requirement of one battalion battlegroup ready to support operations. Bushmasters would be used here. Probably unlikely they would be deployed to serious war zones.

Have a great day.

As a temp fix I have used a combination of the chinese inf and US heavy weapons packs for french and aussie ..GHQ now has mod french inf that could be used for Aussie inf. GHQ does The M1,ASLAV,Bushmaster,M113as,Lav3 variants,Unimog 4x4,Landie 3-4 variants so we fig another year or two and they should put out the Aussie inf and weapons packs..

GHQ is also coming out with Current Modern US infantry in August.

G'day Whoa, seen your name on the GHQ forums as well. Yeah I was thinking along similar lines having had a look at the modern Frenchies yesterday evening. Some French soldiers mixed with US infantry (maybe these modern ones if they aren't too noticeably different).

Thanks for the extra info as well FPR, I wasn't going to go too crazy into looking into Beersheba (yet) until I figured out what I wanted to do with everything, only have a few Bushies and a pair of M1 tanks gifted to me so was just working with what I have.

Am mildly impressed by the range available, and I see GHQ is looking into the larger rocket systems as well at least with the BM-30, I hope they make a BM-27 as well as that always seems to get missed. (The ISM one is okay, but kind of looks disproportional compared to GHQ offerings).

You''ll need a 1/300 float for the Lesbian, Gay, and Transgender soldiers to ride into battle on,…
Devine!

Chatticus Finch02 Jul 2014 2:02 a.m. PST

…so something like a My Little Pony doll to act as the float then.

MARVELLOUS! ;)
