It's like a Jihadist version of ImagiNations. |

Interesting – the link has been blocked by the censor in Thailand. Must be afraid rebels down south may take it seriously. |

I always wondered where the band "Sam the Sham and Pharaohs" came from. Now I see it on the map, from the land of Sham. |

a number of predominantly non-Muslim countries might find this a tad inconvenient
like Israel, Ethiopia, Eritrea, South Sudan, Nigeria, Austria, Slovenia, Croatia, Serbia, Bosnia, Macedonia, Bulgaria, Hungary, Greece, Romania, Moldova, Ukraine, Russia, Spain, Portugal, India, Sri Lanka, China
wow, over twenty countries including four nuclear powers! |

So let me get this straight: some in East Whattheistan did a google to find out what Islam's territories looked like at the height of its high tide expansion, close to a millennium ago. He handed this data off to his cousin, who put together a bitchin' graphics presentation. The Daily Heil publishes this and we are now all supposed to ourselves in terror? Am I on message with this one? |

So, what's that "little" piece called, between Iraq, Kordistan and Khurasan? Did "they" forget that one?

This is a joke, imho. You all know how the Internet is

I recall El Shabab was going to conquer Ethiopia, when they found that tanks, gunships and regular troops beat pickups and rabble any day. OK, the Syrian forces have been severely degraded and the Iraqi forces have so far lacked leadership and fighting spirit
but just in case, the Egyptian, Saudi, Iranian, Jordanian and Turkish militaries are large, well equipped, competent and supported by powerful friends (a mix of US/EU/Russia). And don't forget Israel. |

Legion 4 | 01 Jul 2014 8:06 a.m. PST |
Yes, ISIS and their ilk think big
but it won't happen
they will fight among themselves and if things get really bad
the US[West?] may get involved with massive CAS, Drones, C/missiles, etc.
collateral damage may be very big and lots of moslems will die
no matter what their predilections
The Last Crusade so to speak
As noted by FPR, many of the local govevernment in the regions will certainly get involved
And if nothing else, my $$$ is on the IDF if ISIS and it's crew head for Jerusalem as they say they will
As well as noted, the Turks have a very big miilitary. The 2nd biggest behind the US in NATO

Zakalwe64, yes, I think you have it just right. Of course, getting the Egyptians and Syrians (who actually tried this once before in the 60's) and the Turks, Kurds, Moroccans, and various others to go along could be as interesting as incorporating the non-Muslim nations. |

For the most part, if they promised to stay there and not bug the rest of the world, I would be fine with them keeping a large chunk of that burnt over desert wasteland. |

The Caliphate, the great Arab myth. Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi should be careful what he wishes for. He'll surround himself with foreign fighters who will eventually get rid of him and choose the next Big Bad Baghdadi er, I mean Caliph. |

The map may be junk
but IS, AQ, Taliban, Hamas, Hezzbolah, AS, BH, etc., etc. still continue their respective verisons of jihad, terrorism, etc.
Not just among themselves but in many cases continue to make threats and take actions against the West, US, Christians, Jews, etc.
Really guys, this worldwide violent islamic unrest, whether the factions coordinate or not. Or whether they fight among themselves. Still have one thing in common. Hatred for the Infidals[Christians, Jews, etc.]
which is many are us here
in one way or another. And it certainly does not appear the "good" moslems can do anything about their lunatic fringe[and that's a lot of fringe !] moslem brothers. Some say they can't, won't, don't care, etc., etc.,
regardless
a lot of dying continues
