I'd like advice for a Vallejo paint scheme for my 15mm Eureka Pacific Theater Australians for New Guinea – similar to the Osprey book plate shown here (green uniform on the right): TMP link

Thanks!

These are the colours I used:

Uniform – Brown Violet
Webbing – German Camo beige
boots – flat earth
gaiters – green grey
hat – US field drab

I have used these colours for my 15mm, 20mm and 28m Pacific Aussies

Thanks shelldrake! BTW, it was interesting reading your alternat history ideas. My Aussies are going to be supported with Sentinel tanks.

No problems :-)

My alternative history idea fell a bit flat due to lack of more Chinese figures, but I can still play small skirmishes at section level.

There's a post on my blog of 28mm Kokoda Aussies I painted:

The uniforms in New Guinea were far from "uniform", jungle greens were issued late and soon faded etc. in conditions. Many blokes were still wearing remnants of gear issued for North Africa & the Med, these could virtually rot away in the jungle. Also present were the blue/grey shirts, which I think may have been issued to Militia units?
Personally I would have found Brown Violet too dark for the overall uniform.
Just my 5 cents worth.
