My first completed Impi – the iNdluyengwe whose battle honours include Isandlwana and Rorke's Drift. Lots more to go. Black Tree Designs Zulus – nice to paint and good figures. Pop over to see more.
Cheers

Working on a married regiment now. I was really apprehensive about painting Zulu but am taking a mass-production approach that seems to be working.

Brian,
I loved looking at these guys! Beautiful!

As a long time fan of "Zulu" and the later filmed "Zulu Dawn", I finally took the plunge a yr ago with Wargames Factory and have bought 90 of their Zulu warriors. Im happy to say 60 of which are completed.
Like you theres just somthing about painting them, while depending on the detail can add to the challenge, but there just plain fun.
From my reading, I understand the 'cowtail' leggings, were generally worn for ceremony rather than action in the field. However Hollywood choose to use them in the battle scenes as well. Lets face it, they do look cool.

Brian, IM not familar with many companies and what scales they produce.
1) Are these (as they seem to be) 28mm or other?
2) What rule system are you basing these (6 per base) for?

My biggest 'challenge'..is keeping myself from buying more. LOL
Best of luck.. I'd love to see more when completed.

Hi again
I have based them for Black Powder. Using 32-36 man Zulu regiments and 16 man British companies. So far almost all my minis are Black Tree Designs with a few Redoubt thrown in. Black Tree do regular sales that make them attractive to order in quantity.
