I get a reasonable number of emails from new gamers (and their parents) about how to paint. Over time I've done some tutorials on various quick methods of painting, on the principle that early success fuels enthusiasm. Today I published a third tutorial on how to quick-paint vehicles using a white primer and washes: link Bob in Edmonton |

That was really ueful: thankyou very much. I've been using Army Painter Dips and Inks plus some Army Painter Inks. I've been doing these over coloured bases (Army Painter spray primers, funnily enough) but I'd not considered colouring the models first over a white base and then adding the shade wash. John T |

RONA stores in Canada have a nice water-based varnish that makes a good base for a wash, using acrylic paints. It even comes in a matt finish. |
