Metal Modeles took over the Phoenix miniatures lines over a decade ago. By the look of things, they've expanded on Tim Richards' designs, but most of the figures are from the 1980s (still very good.) Wyatt |

Maybe she's a farm girl fixing the old tractor? I do like that the painter made her feet dirty, but I worry that she'll hurt herself. There's a reason health and safety regs exist. |

But better if this picture and TMP link were on the same post. |

Soooo how would you wargame with this? Or is the P in tmp meant to stand for porn? Are guys that desperate they have to turn to these, admittedly very nicely done, figures? This guy plasters posts on everything, isn't there enough material out there for wargaming? Jesus Christ. "Welcome to The Miniatures Page, the home of miniature wargaming on the Internet. A "wargaming miniature" is a scale replica of a soldier or vehicle intended for use in a game. Here we cover everything from Ancient Egypt to the War on Terror, from haunted dungeons to dueling starships, from German panzers to Prussian lancers
and no historical era is too obscure!" Guf |

Soooo how would you wargame with this? Lots of tabletop wargames have rules for combat repair of equipment by specific mechanic figures. In many of those, the mechanics are non-combatants. |

Plus many skirmish games and RPGs will have civilians. But I am amazed at how clean she is. My hands get greasy if I look at an engine. |

I wonder if the New Guy's mind would be blown if he visited the fantasy boards, since those games are not historical. |
Green Feather | 29 Jun 2014 10:57 p.m. PST |
I just copy and pasted what is on the front page and am trying to figure out what erotic figures have to do with wargaming? Haunted dungeons sounds like D&D/fantasy to me. Why would that blow my mind? I do have to read tango posts, he seems to be the moderator he posts so much, is he? Seriously, it's a very nicely sculpted and painted nice figure, I actually like it. But what's the fascination with eroticism here? What does it have to do with wargaming? At 80mm? And the section title kind of sounds like something a tree house full of giggling pre-pubescent boys might scrawl on one of their walls. I don't get it. I NEVER GOT IT. Guf |

Your first two posts here are immediate criticisms of the website. That is either the hallmark of a rude self-important nerd or a sock puppet. |

It is called "The Miniatures Page ". That broad is a miniature. The mission statement, like all mission statements , is there to satisfy ISO auditors and is mere boilerplate. NMB could certainly use a name change but that was voted down in a Poll, as I recall. If it annoys you that much, turn in another Poll Suggestion. Since this seems to be a new account by an old timer, do you have a long list of complsints or just this one ? |

Dear James on Safari Oh my goodness, on the farm? And barefoot. I'm thinking of mosquitos, chiggers, ticks, red bugs, ring-worm, hookworm spider bites, poison ivy
Anyway Green Feather as for justifying it, I did a few dozen threads ago. Here I reprint it. A friend of mine and I are working on a new project. It's a "Charlies Angels" game, from the old television series. The game is where the Angels are dropped on top of a New York Skyscraper by their own "simple little black heliocopter." The skyscraper is the headquarters of an international terrorists organization. The Angels job is to wipe it out. The game will be played on a huge model of the skyscraper 10 ft tall, with panels that open to reveal the interior or the rooms and offices. The figures used will be "Barbie Dolls." But the heliocopter pilot made a mistake. He dropped them on the wrong sky-scraper. It's not a terrorist cell at all, but the location of an exclusive swanky New York Sex Club. The girls have to get off
umm
get out of the skyscraper some how. Just think of the fun making the equipment and costumes for the Barbie dolls, dressing and undressing them
. The Rack Room, the orgy pit
slave market etc. All the things like "Bad Sophia" and "Carla" and the rest of the 80mm figures you despise can be props and "terrain."
There you go. Part of a game. Completely justified. It's going to be a tough game to build but the research and field work should be a blast. Art is in the archetype. You may consider them filthy, but I see them as art, that is art which through the use of archetypes touches something far above us. These are beautiful sculptures and sure-- maybe they have gravity defying breasts and legs that are a bit too long, and musculature a bit to over the top, but that's art. |

I do have to read tango posts, You don't have to read any posts. But what's the fascination with eroticism here? I don't know either. Why do you find the figure erotic? I don't. It's explicit, but in my book explicit is not erotic. I just copy and pasted what is on the front page and am trying to figure out what erotic figures have to do with wargaming? Already answered. True, an interpretation of "soldier or vehicle" as exclusive – nothing but those two things – would exclude the figure under discussion. It would also exclude a lot of other things, like terrain, any civilian figures, insurgents (who are not soldiers), mobs, (possibly) militias, scenarios, artillery pieces (that are not vehicles), flags, damage effects, markers and tokens, animals, buildings, crops, fences, jersey barriers, crates and barrels, tar pits, fire, trains, robots (unless you believe robots have intelligence), ammo dumps, kaiju, superheroes, manhole covers, football players, futból players, tavern patrons, bar wenches, pirates, Winston Churchill during WWII, zombies, cowboys, law enforcement personnel (who don't have posse comitatus), mafioso, yakuza, mercenaries, Xaiolin monks, Shaolin Monks, Friar Tuck, Little John, Errol Flynn, Neo, Selene, Ultraviolet, your mama (well, odds are in the favor of that one), chemical plants, carnivorous plants, pod people, protesters, hippies, hackers, slackers, trackers, parachute packers, Luddites, factory workers, sailors (?!?!), longshoremen, water effects, ice effects, little flashy lights, penguins, nuns, the Weather Underground, CIA operatives, drones (UAVs), drones (ants), drones (audio effects for monasteries), mole men, oil rigs, people squished in Godzilla's footprint, armories, armors, armories, arms, arms dealers, Monty Hall, Monty Haul, whiskey distilleries, baby milk factories, camo netting, Girl Scouts, Girl Guides, Boy Scouts, retirees, partisans, yeti, abominable snowmen, abominable snowwomen, bigfeet, sasquatches, sasquatch watchers, park rangers, pork ranchers, banjo players, and journalists. To name a few. What does it have to do with wargaming? At 80mm?
Why does scale matter? |

To name a few. You forgot the rustlers, cut throats, murderers, bounty hunters, desperados, mugs, pugs, thugs, nitwits, halfwits, dimwits, vipers, snipers, con men, Indian agents, Mexican bandits, muggers, ers, bushwhackers, hornswogglers, horse thieves, bull s, train robbers, bank robbers, ass-kickers, -kickers and Methodists. |

Rebellyell2006 Don't forget the Kickstarters and Amway Dealers too! As for these figures not having anything to do with gaming, they are in a sense archetypes of eroticism which has everything to do with sex and sex is seduction- the greatest game of all. I don't find this figure of the mechanic sexy by the way. I find her not a little pathetic. I don't mean in a despicable sense, but as in "imbued with Pathos." She shouldn't have to do that work. For me--- for ME her face seems to be saying "I wish you could see me all dolled up, I'm quite pretty!" |
