Want to write a quick play Star Wars game, basically a simplified 'reskin' of my Battle of Britain game. Obviously there is no historical performance data. What do people suggest as the relative strengths of the various 'classic' fighters (kids have the old plasticard stuff) X wing Y wing TIE TIE interceptor TIE advanced TIE bomber Missed any? I'm thinking TIE fighters are more manoeuvrable than X-wings, due to the X wing length. |

X-wing = Hurricane Y-wing = Mosquito TIE = Me 109 TIE Int = Me 262 TIE Bomber = Ju 88 All of the above on speed and maneuver only. Or you could just crib from FFG's game, ' cause the maneuver charts are online. |

For a BOB refight: Spitfire Mk I = Z-95 (good all rounder) Hurricane = Y Wing (tough workhorse) Me110 = TIE Advanced Me109 = TIE Fighter Slave 1 = Ju88 Shuttle = He111 TIE Bomber = Ju87 Later: TIE Interceptor = FW190A (packs a punch) TIE Defender = FW190 Sturmbock variant (uparmoured) TIE Phantom = ME262 (hard to hit but fragile) X Wing = Spitfire Mk V (tougher than Mk I and more firepower) A Wing = Mustang P-51B (fast but lacks firepower) E Wing = Mustang P-51D (better firepower) B Wing = Thunderbolt (strong and heavy firepower) |

Thanks, though I'm not going to do a straight swap in. I'm going to rewrite to simplify. I'm trying to work out some relative strengths. |
