Little late inbox of Wargammers very nice set of Polish national cavalry for With Fire and Sword. With first base ready and second close to completion my thought about inbox was a little late but we have painted example (and more of them will be arriving shortly :) I have some problem calling this renaissance gaming period (as I wouldn't call simultaneous English civil war a renaissance conflict, but Wargaming don't have a batter name for the period unfortunately..(and ECW has nice english acronym for itself)

I have this set myself. Nice figures and a good ruleset for an interesting, but neglected period. Thanks. |

To be honest I played the rules only once so far but i liked them. I am yet to buy the rulebook itself. But I wanted to have RON (Polish Lithuanian Commonwealth) army of this period for a long time, and the basing is DBX style mostly So even if someone wouldn't be interested in heavy historical driven game like "With Fire and Sword" those models would rock in most of the FOGR or DBR armies of the period. I think that eastern wars of the period are much more interesting and colorful anyway. Most of the western armies of the times had very same units that differ little in looks, but On the Polish Borders – west and east meet in unique way. |

Very nice set, I have looked at this range of figures and I am very tempted to start building up forces, lot of research to do as I know very little!! |

You might start with rulebook. Its bit pricey, but its huge books with lot of illustration and heavy historical research done. Otherwise I cant really help you as I am not aware of good sources in English for the period Maybe Kadrinazi (military historian of this period os some esteem and historical consultant for the game and also lives in the UK) can help with that. Miniatures are not without some little clothing problems (that are corrected in later sets) but they are best miniatures for the period on the market IMHO and most historical accurate for sure. |

Unfortunately there's not enough good sources in English, few Osprey's that are available on market have quite a lot of errors and may only be used as starting point.
