Ok so I posted a couple of months ago asking for info on Russian WW2 cavalry. Then cbaxter posted just what I wanted! So first up thanks cb you gave me just what I needed. I decided rather than carve up Perry acw cavalry and add the top halves from warlord games Russians I would get the greenstuff out. So I have used up a lot of the spares from the warlord plastic Russians and afair amount of greenstuff
these are the first two of ten! I'm arming them all with sabres just for the cool look of artistic flashing sabres! They will all be armed with carbines where possible. So my pet project is well underway,
they not be 100% correct but they are good enough for me So thanks for looking Cheers Russ

Those are super! This is why I love the new plastic revolution. It makes so many unusual conversions like these possible. |

" ?they not be 100% correct " But they be darn close enough. Wonderful result. Await the full squad thundering across TMP pages Cheers PS your paint style is beautiful, almost like a comic book outlining. Any tips on how you achieve this. It looks very nice and neat. |

Thanks Abwehrschlacht, you do some pretty ace work yourself Chris Palmer, I've got to agree 100%. I know plastics are not to everyone's tastes but how could you not like the versatility of them! Thanks Zargon, I've done a few tutorials over on my Photobucket, if Photobucket is playing nicely this should be the link link hopefully you might find some of it of use So thanks for the feedback Cheers for now Russ |

OUTSTANDING!!! As an old Cavalryman let me heap praise on your latest effort. These guys bring tears to my eyes. They're that good. I look forward to seeing more. I'd also like to know if you're going to do dismounted troopers. I bet the bunch would be a blast in a game. |

Thanks Truscott Trotter, they were real easy to paint! The Perry plastics are a great starting point, I've changed the saddle bags on the horses but other than that they are straight out of the box. thabear, no problem I will post them in all thier glory as soon as I get them finished. Robby, glad to hear you approve. I will be adding some dismounted versions once I get a few more parts sorted! My greenstuff skills are improving slowly so I'm pretty sure you will see a few more chopshop creations pretty soon. Thanks for all the feedback guys it helps keep me focused So cheers for now Russ |
