Hi guys i just wanted to know just what the scale really is for perry 8th army plastics? I painted some up and i find that theu are almost the same as some valiant miniatures i have and did'nt look all that far off some of the larger 1/72 scale tanks i have such as armourfast valentines and some old resin matilda tanks i have which i think i got from the rapid fire stand at salute some years ago!!!
Any observations on this would be appreciated

I would think the 1/72 models even if they are larger and perhaps they are more toward 1/64 would be too small. The Perry figures are geared toward 1/56 scale models such as Blitzkrieg's wonderful vehicles. However, if what you have works for you then use it for your games. After all the scale police are not going to come tell you that you cannot use those with that.

Play on and enjoy your games.

The Valiant Minis are "True" 25mm, same size as the old Ral Partha figures. I used Armorfast vehicles with them and they looked fine to me.

Valiant minis are advertised as "1/72". Size often vary even within a scale, since manufacturers can make figures wider even if they're roughly the same height. This is why I wouldn't mix Perry 28mm figures with Artizan Design 28mm figures, much less Victory Force 28mm ones.

My advice is, if you find the Valiant 1/72 figures are close enough to the Perry 28mm that it doesn't bother you, then the 1/72 Armourfast tanks you use for Valiant would be fine with Perry 28mm.

The Perry's 8th army and Afrika Korps are extremely nice but they are very small. Even against the old true 25mm Battle Honors range.

Use them as stand alone army but they don't mix very well with any other 25/28mm ranges much to my disappointment.

Just a quick comparison shot:
Perry Desert Rats and Afrika Korps with TAG SAS/Hasslefree Modern Trooper/Artizan British Paras.
