A friend asked me about some soldiers he owned but I've not been able to find out anything about them. They're about 90mm from the base to the top of the plume and seem like they're made of tin.
Any information or pointers to further information would be much appreciated. |

They look to me like British Household Cavalry.
I don't know when the uniform came in but I'd guess it was late C19th and I don't think it has changed much since then. |

Are there any markings on the underside of the base? |

They look like early Britains to me. |

I would say not Britains but of similar vintage
And yes – Blues & Royals |

I am an ex-collector of toy soldiers. Do they feel hollow-cast, ie quite light, or solid cast, heavy and substantial? These look like aluminium figures that were made just before and just after WW2, mainly in France. The main company was "Quiralu". As these are a British subject, the Royal Horse Guards, they were probably made by "Wend-Al", a British manufacturer of aluminium figures. Aluminium would make the figures very light weight. PS Blues and Royals I believe was created from two amalgamated regiments in 1970, one of which was the Royal Horse Guards. |

There are no markings on the undersides I'm afraid. The figures are not as heavy as they would be if they were made of lead or steel, that's why I assumed they were hollow and probably tin. You've provided me with just about every bit of information I could ask for. I am much obliged for your help. Thank you very much. |

Can you get pictures of other figures in the collection. All good points by Eleve but they might be 54mm SAE figures which were narrow. |
