Every time I attempt to connect to Yahoo Groups I get a page asking me to download something to do with a 'Mozilla Firefox System Crash'. Strange as I'm using Explorer !! (it also happens if I use Firefox). Sometimes I get told the site's certificate is invalid if that gives someone a clue. I get the same problem with another Yahoo site as well. To begin with I just deleted Browsing history and it went away, now that won't work and I can't get at my groups. Does anyone have a clue what is going on or can offer some advice. I've done scans with my anti-virus and it found some code in an e-mail that had never been opened but nothing active. I'm foxed. |

The note about the certificate being invalid might point to your antivirus program. It might be a false positive Perhaps if you don't mind you could tell us which yahoo group is causing your proble!m? I signed into both my yahoo groups and specific groups with no problem. Leaving aside yahoos irritatiting newly 'helpful' neo. I guess you get the service you pay for |

The invalid certificate error comes from the browser – it was different in both Explorer and Firefox. It isn't a specific group, just the Yahoo Groups site. It is some sort of highjacking of the site reference I think but I can't find how it is done or how to shift it. |

Try browsing through Google. I know, crazy to have to use Google, for a Yahoo Group, but it's the only way I've had any success accessing Groups, since their latest "improvement upgrade". I was having major issues with IE8. |

I tried that and even typing the addy in just gets the same result. First time I've had any issue with the new version – if that is what it is. I still suspect that something is messing with my computer but can't find out what or how !!! |

Think I may have found the cause and solved it, at least for now. It seems to have been a security hole in my modem/router's software that was attacked and I have now reset and re-configured it. May happen again though from what I read when I finally IDed the cause. Looks like I need to shell out for a newer bit of kit soon. Thanks for the attempts at advice guys, may not have got me further but it is nonetheless appreciated. |
