Crockett executed!?!? What bullswaggle!!

Clearly the author has never seen the true versions of his demise---the John Wayne movie or the Fess Parker movie.

Executed---makes a grown Texan cringe!!

But good on Phil Collins for his magnanimous act.

Didn't know about Phil being such a collector. Very cool.

Sounds like some interesting times ahead for the Alamo:

……….."The deal is part of a larger effort by the GLO to improve Texas's most sacred historical site. "We've got big plans for the Alamo," land commissioner Jerry Patterson told me yesterday afternoon……….For Patterson, who will leave office when his third term ends this January, fixing up the Alamo is a way to ensure his own legacy, "………..

Wonder just how much work "fixing up" will involve

What an incredibly odd tale.

That is very generous of him.

Glad to see the stuff will be going to Texas, instead of lost in Switzerland…….

That's a great story & true credit to Phil choosing to share his prized collection with anyone else who has an interest in seeing them.

Too many objects of historical or cultural significance are hidden away in private collections, never to be enjoyed by anyone bar the owner.

I'd like to think that if I was in such a position I would be as big spirited a man..

Well done Phil, you're a good bloke!

Mr Collins has a long standing interest in the Alamo – he was interviewed about by BBC radio last year I think – so nice to see that philanthropy isn't dead !

'Can't hurry Love' Governor Phil?

The big model of the Alamo across the street was owned by Phil Collins. He narrates the presentation for it. Was pretty cool.

I am so glad he donated this collection to the Alamo. What a wonderful gesture to share his passion with those of us that will appreciate it, greatly. This makes me happy!!!

I had a Davy Crockett hat when I was a kiddie. My mother made it from scraps after she shortened my grandmothers fur coat.

'Can't hurry Love' Governor Phil? -outrageous.
I prefer "Apocalyse in 9/8" Guv'nor. :)
