I painted up some barrels primarily for use in my 15mm games, but they will also work in 6mm, and 28mm. I need to work on more, but these turned out very well. I have posted a quick write up on my blog. gamingandshooting.blogspot.com |

They have a really interesting shape and pattern to them, good find from a buddy there. Would they be good enough for gantry/ walkway Supports too? |

@Feet up now – that would work in 15mm if you stacked them. In 6mm they would probably work at their current height. I forgot to mention that these are actually two parts. For 6mm these can be taken apart and would be about half as tall. Still a bit big for 6mm, but again, I think with a little work they would make for good industrial storage tanks. Maybe that will be an upcoming project. |

I like them, don't get me wrong. Even for 6mm. But they could be used as engines or some big tanker truck for 6mm.
link Excellent find! Dan |

Those look great. I've used the plastic hexagonal covers they put over the wheel nuts on cars with alloy wheels as sci/fi containers they tend to come in two heights 15mm and about 30mm and side on you can stack them (though you need to fill in the bottoms then. Cheers Roger. |

Hey Dan, how did you get the picture to show up in the post? I didn't know I could do that. |
Lion in the Stars | 25 Jun 2014 2:01 p.m. PST |
@Sean: You need to first upload a picture to someplace like Photobucket or Facebook (assuming it's a picture you took yourself). If it's a picture you found online, right-click, select 'Copy Image Location' and then you can paste that into your post here. If you want to make sure TMP recognizes it as an image, you need to put "[ img ]" (without the spaces) at the front of the image's location, and "[ /img ]" (again without the spaces) at the end. |

@Dan: So did you just link that picture from my blog or did you copy it to photobucket or facebook? Sorry to be a bonehead, but I'm still learning. |

AAAaaarrgh
It's cruel to post such pictures and not tell us where we can get such barrels; or should we attack an hospital? :) |

Those would work for 6mm as noted as large liquid storage tanks. We have large gasoline storage and dispensing facilities in a couple of locations near by. Those tanks are huge
