I have asked this question before on another subject. I have see stifle and stifle ration on members profiles, it is often mentioned on various message boards, but what is it ? I have looked it up in a dictionary- to keep back, to kill by keeping away fresh air. So what dose it do and what is it for ? |

If you stifle someone on TMP you no longer see their posts – except you still see new topics they start. I believe that if you use the new ignore functionality you don't see those either. |

Correct. Stifle function shows a grey box when someone you stifled posts. But you'd still see topics they start. Ignore eliminates them from you altogether |

Ignore eliminates them from the front page but they'll be there when one goes into the message boards. |

If you like someone you give them a Trifle . If you do not like someone you give them a Stifle. Simples. |

Yes, it does explain what a stifle does. As for Ignore, I guess it is not in the FAQ yet. No big deal. |

IS the "ignore" even working yet? |

Thanks for that. Now you got my interest, are you aloud to know how has "stifled you" ? |

Since being stifled has absolutely no effect on you, why do you need to know who stifled you? |

Yes it does have an affect on you. Because it would be nice to know if your wasting your time responding to a post of a person who can't see your responce. I am not sure if the person is just unable to understand what I am telling him or if he is stifling me. If I knew he was stifling me then I would know not to have a one sided conversation. It is very disconcerting and well frankly, rude and juvenile. Why can't people just ignore the post on your own and move on. I find it the equivalent of holding your hands over your ears and screaming. I don't even know if you can read this post. |
