"15mm Star Wars recommendations" Topic

I have recently completed some 15mm Rebels for my current 15mm Star Wars project:

But I was wondering what other people are using for some of the other denizens of the Star Wars universe in 15mm? I heard a rumour that Khurasan are imminently releasing some 15mm not-Stormtroopers, but I am looking for some other looky-likey Imperials, like the army and navy troops, along with some of the aliens. 15mm sci-fi is massive, and I've done a little research, but am asking for pointers and recommendations.

Highlander Studios may be of some interest to you. Do a TMP search for 'Space Pals'. Black Hat Miniatures Toleros and Yetis resemble a couple of the better known races. One of Khurasans ranges has figures suitable for Rebel ship crew.

Thankfully no-one makes a Jar-Jar Binks figure…..

I can't recommend the 'Space Pals' they are more 20mm than 15mm. Compared to standard Khurasan sizes they are way too big.

RebelMinis Titan Marines look like decent not-Stormtroopers.

For the 'Regular' Imperial Army and Navy types, I wonder if the GZG Colonial Defense Force guys with helmets would work?

Will, I have bought the CDF with helmets, but am using them for the Rebel troopers.

Ah, the CDF guys would also work great for Rebels. Both sides appeared to use the same/similar helmet designs though, and that's a lot what makes them distinct (esp. in 15mm). Since the Rebels used a lot of captured Imperial kit I wonder if using the same minis, painted differently, for both 'regular' Rebels and regular Imperial Army makes sense?

That's a fair point, at 15mm scale, who would really know? Black uniforms for the Imperial Navy and grey for the Imperial Army and I'd be sorted…

Depending on how close you want to get, GZG's New Israelis look fairly stormtrooper-ish apart from the helmets, and their DPRG might be a decent match for the rebel chap above, with the right paint scheme.

Clone wars droids from critical mass.

If your looking for some Imperial Stormtroopers i think Blue moons 15ALN-122 Galactica Mercenaries are a good match, all you need to do is add a little bit of putty to separate the single eye piece to make them into two. The pack has ten miniatures in it and comes with the cool looking SAW heavy blaster, two NCO's with laser pistols and the rest of the pack have standard looking blasters just imagine them painted up in white…

Eureka sci-fi german stormtroopers are very close when painted. That is what I use for the Imperials. For the rebels I use Old glory WW11 Russian infantry. With a creative paint job they actually work well.

Some good suggestions in there chaps, I was after the rebels and aliens rather than stormtroopers (I was the one who started that previous thread, AA!). Khurasan's ship crew look great, if only his website wasn't down…

I converted some storm troopers, made myself and R2D2, and Highland studios make some characters.
