I recently finished Charles C Mann 1493, which is mainly a broad look at the Columbian Exchange, a fascinating subject in its own right: link Mann wrote one long chapter on the African diaspora, including a section on Maroon societies that (briefly) put the Seminole Wars into the context of the Maroon Wars. It gave me a different perspective. |

You have a good list. I would recommend This Miserable Pride of a Soldier: The Letters and Journals of Colonel William S. Foster in the Second Seminole War and Amidst a Storm of Bullets: The Diary of Lt. Henry Prince in Florida 1836-1842. Rick |

I got several books at the Dade's battlefield park book shop. Kimballs Timeline is a valuable tool. |
